Been off the Vine for a few days. Some of you may remember that my youngest grandson was born last September with a cleft palate and Pierre Robin sequence. Well, this week he had the operation to repair the cleft, and I've been helping to look after his brother and sister. Many thanks to all the staff at Addenbrooke's hospital (you never know, some of them may be Grapes). Op was successful and he and Mum are now on their way home.

So glad to hear all went well. It's such a worry when sa little one has to go into hospital. I am sure its a weight off your mind.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Good news. It's greart to have a hands-on Gran when these things happen - well done RL.Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

Thanks everyone. They're actually all at home now, went round this evening, cooked supper and we opened a bottle of bubbly to say welcome home. He's looking great, poor Mum's looking really tired, and poor Grandma's back to work on Monday - never mind, as long as babe's OK that's all that really matters.

Glad to hear all went well Rustylady. These things are such a big worry and few people can really share that with you. Sincere best wishes to your grandson, and you look after yourself now. Hope it helps to know the Grapes really are thinking about you.

He's definitely on the mend. Came to mine today with Mum and brother and sister. Demolished the DVD stack under the TV, ripped up today's newspaper, so we took them all to the park to let off steam. Fed the ducks (who weren't interested) and played on the swings. Got some really good photos of Nanny (me) on the cycle roundabout but I'm not putting them on the Vine! too embarrassing but the kids loved it. Didn't try the slide cos I know my hips won't fit!

Slight panic yesterday morning - he woke up really early, fretful, slight temperature and snotty/bloody nose. Visit to local hospital and he's been assessed fine. Back home and well.Attached Files
