    Hi folks

Back home, been so busy, back to UK then hardly time to think straight, car (Picasso) got wrecked by French muppet who pulled out of a side turning on my right of way, both driver's side doors demolished, windows broken etc (thank goodness for second car) few days in Bordeaux for hospital but now back home and GARDENING at long last, seems like ages I chatted on here last.

Back to UK THursday tho for daughter's civil ceremony but only staying there for 4 days.

Yesterday and today, weather has been glorious, 30 plus in the shade on my terrace both days and have seriously started to get back into the gardening.

Now need to buy a new petrol hedge cutter - old electric one has finally given up - put guttering etc on the shed, fit new water butts - don't you just love this sort of thing, I certainly do!

Would do but guess who got the bill for it?

AND she's 39, should be paying for it herself!!!

I was 50 the first time I got married & my mother footed the bill.
The second time to madderbat in 2003 & my mother gave us cash (can't remember how much.)

Did you suggest she pay for it herself? Or did you do what I always do and cough up anyway? It doesn't matter how old they are they are still your children and you always feel responsible for them - hard being a parent isn't it? Sorry if that sounds hard or sarcastic, it wasn't meant to be.

Welcome back Tony, at least your ok now and back into the gardening lark.

Be prepared to go into hiding next summer as we are getting the ferry to Santander and driving up through your neck of the woods to Brittainy, staying for a week though of course.

Of course I didn't ask her to pay - but I've made it clear this is it, no more, finito, finis - paying half of her sister's eldest's voyage through Uni, just paid half of his sister's college for two years.

It's not their inheritance, it's my fun money and I want to spend some on MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Good to see you back, Tony!

(I keep telling my parents to blow it all anytime they mention inheritance money. I'd rather see mum & dad having a fantastic retirement doing all the things they never had time for when my sister and I were kids/semi-dependent young adults)
