  • Damn cat!!!

Just got home from a long Friday at work to find the cat has been up on the windowsill (despite the curtains being closed to keep him off)
The little sod has knocked off 3 seed trays and eaten, yes EATEN the basil seedlings!

    GRRRRRRRR

My poppy cat has gone off on a mission to my niece. I miss her so much. My poor niece has a real mice problem. Unfortunately she is currently living in a less than salubrious part of town and has got mice. Despite having had the council in she is still bothered by the mice and has borrowed my cat. Poppy cat has done a sterling job, and if I'm not careful I will lose her to my niece. So. Always appreciate your cat who knows when you will no longer haver her

I'm currently in bed with the other cat sneakily smuggled in to the bedroom OH is outside putting the chiminea to bed. How can you be cross with a cat for more than 5mins. Poor little Iani cat has missed his little poppy cat ( NOT) they fight when the are together. Yet will happily snuggle up together on MY throw when they are cold.

I know i know, he's a loverly little fur ball really, even if he can be a pest....
All the seedlings should survive. I'm using those little round expending thingamabobs, they faired ok to be chucked on the floor and basil can be sown any time. Still cant believe he ate them though!
At least he didn't get to the tomatoes, i might not have taken that so well

LOL My cats are the same. The two big boys like to be outside, but as soon as there's a rain shower, they dash into the green house and sleep in my seed trays. They're not bothered if there are seedlings - they're just extra cushioning apparently!!

Tatty, could be considered to be the fault.
You hid something and so the cat wanted to know what.
Then having found this hidden item it then just had to see if they were worth eating.

So using this logic that I very much suspect the cat also used, what else could you expect?

Looking out the window is one of my cats most important jobs of the day,he opens the curtains with his paw & nose, when he makes a tiny gap he can jump up. When they're sitting on the windowsill put your trays up there then,so they can see where they are,I always have to leave a cat sized gap there & he remembers where his space is. I let mine have a little smell of the trays, tell him no or something & then put them down,to make him extra aware of them,he's never eaten any of my seedlings but he eats the grass outside.

One of mine likes to ninja his way into the netting (still no idea how - I can't find a gap anywhere!) and go to sleep in the sunniest spot - which at the moment is on top of my leeks! I shout at him every time, then turn around and he's back in there. He's a monkey but I wouldn't change him for the world

He's the neediest little thing, follows you round the house, won't just sleep on the bed but has to be pressed up against you, every time you sit down he wants on your lap.
Was given to us by my girlfriends aunt a couple of months ago as he wasn't getting on with the dog, really wouldn't swap him for the world!!
Doesn't go out much beyond the garden, but when the greenhouse is up i'm betting he will be spending a lot of time in there!
