  • Morning all. Very windy, very cold, very wet - why did I say I'd go shopping today? Eugh. At least it's not digging into gardening time as I wouldn't be out there anyway. We needed some rain but it's more like a nasty drizzle so, unless it gets heavier, can't see the water butts filling up or the soil getting a good water. S'pose I shouldn't talk too soon

Rest of my poor squash is pining to be planted out as getting pot pound but will have to wait. Maybe tomorrow will be sunny and gorgeous?!?
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

        • Morning all. Normal service has been resumed in this household as the greenhouse is now up, tied down to within an inch of it's life and I am back to being a chilled, mellow person.

It's sunny today and I really must cut the grass otherwise the neighbours will be wandering through thinking there's a new forest area just appeared.

I'm also going to make one of those terracota pot candle heater thingies and pot on my chillies and put them in the greenhouse to live.

I haven't had too much time to read though what I've missed but I hope you are all fair to middling as they say.

          Have a good one.

            • Morning all, another beautiful morning here! Unusual for us to have the good weather and you southerners to be soaked! Going to enjoy it as I assume it won't last too long. Not caught up on all the posts as yet so going to spend a few minutes doing so.

Hope you all have a lovely day no matter the weather!

Everything is cleaned out already, still got to water tunnels, tubs, pack, sort paper work ( cr@py meeting Thursday) finish cleaning house and if I have time mow the lawns. Apart from that I'm having a really easy relaxing day.
                Have a good day everyone

                • Lashing with rain here, although latest forecast suggests a dry, but cloudy, afternoon. Anyway I shall be headed for the computer for some more jolly report writing. I'm in enough trouble at work so I'd better not put what I really think!

                        • Bore da! Its sunshiny and breezy - all the outdoor thermometers agree on 20C.
Saw a weather warning yesterday that said "East/West split - bad luck East". Sorry, but I expect the rain will arrive in the West later.
                          Bought a load of plants at L1dl yesterday - £1.99 each or 3 for £5 - so I bought 9.
Flowering shrubs/climbers including 2 Pepinos (Solanum muricatum) that I've been trying to grow from seed for a couple of years. Also bought a halfprice kiwi (Arguta Kiwino) Now I know I'm seriously crazy
Anyway, enough of me and my problems, hope you're all OK and the sun will shine for you later!

                          • Just got back from a lovely stroll around a local 'man-made' lake: sun was shining and would've been really warm if not for the strong breeze blowing across the water .....

Anyhoo, I now have one very tired, VERY SMELLY wet Toby dog lying next to me - despite shampooing him when we got home ..... Funny old thing, loves swimming, splashing through puddles, but he's a gibbering wreck when I come at him with sponge, shampoo and warm water ...

Sunny and windy here, washers on with bedding (hope it stays on the line), deliveries all arrived pronto which makes a change for day after bank holiday
Toms survived night in greenhouse, runners are still unplanted but flapping around in wind toughening up...I can report a shoot in one of potato bags yeyyyyyy.
Anyhow ..not sure of plans . Have a good day
