Hello and Good Evening and Happy Shared Birthday to Toby dog Those yellow eggs on the underside of your leaves CG are from cabbage white butterflies and will turn into caterpillars that in turn will eat the leaves so keep rubbing them off! Hope you're all having as nice an evening as me
Evening all..
What another beautiful day we had here...
Did a 65km cycle this morning and really enjoyed it.. Then did some collecting of kids from school and some minding of said kids...
Did some gardening and then dug out something non garden related....our BBQ
Few burgers, few beers..happy days
Now watching a movie with the kids...some red wine hanging about too
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....
My life seems to have been taken over by tradesmen, tile catalogues and bathroom websites
Landscaper and team turns up for half a day, then disappear for 2 weeks at a time and seem incapable of completing anything. Decorators leaving to do another job for a week, which, to be fair they did warn us about.
Stepdaughters room decorated, only for her to have a friend round who manages to get lipstick all over the freshly painted ceiling and the cat decided she just had to go for a stroll on the freshly glossed window sill and then leave paw prints all over the duvet. grrr!
Plumber has quoted an obscene amount to fit new bathroom and shower room, but he's good and available in a month, so have to grin and bare it. OH has decided she wants a copper slipper bath which costs nearly as much as a new car, etc., etc.
And all I want to do is spend a decent amount of time at the lotty
What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?
Pumpkin pi.
Lipstick on the ceiling???
A copper slipper bath??? Sounds like something Cinderella would have after going to the Policemen's Ball.
Skeggi, I'm not going to sleep tonight wondering about these things Chin up, it'll be worth it in the end!
A rare Friday night settling in from me - no training run in the morning as it is RACE DAY on Sunday. So tonight I have a small ball of string to hand.
In the absence of BB (what with Mrs BB back in residence), I'm a bit stuck as to where to start - but maybe this is appropriate....
On a running theme (you aren't going to get me off that tonight!) - I remember running (haha!) the sports aid mile back in 1986 to this tune.
It was notable (for me!) because the route took the runners steaming down a path, past a concrete bollard which I managed to smack straight into. It was groin height - it's not just lads whose eyes water in this circumstance, I can tell you!
Well this is poor form! Despite the latter two tracks I am stuck on running vids between (freak of nature) Usain Bolt and (loony who devalues the marathon currency for everyone else) Eddie Izzard; neither of which provides good entertainment. Hmm.
Morning all
I'm going home today
I'm going to try for another hour and half sleep first ( now drunk people have stopped shouting )
Have a good day everyone
Woke up with hayfever...well there's a great start to the day
Had a good day yesterday...nope, no gardening though I'm afraid.
One of OH's friends had been sorting out his outhouse and had some bits of oak beams and lintels etc he didn't want...do we want them?......yup, yup, yup!
So collected those and saw a piece of discarded granite windowsill....
....you guess it!
Perfect for our (next) project of the lounge restoration!
All free!
Don't you just like recycling?
And to finish the day I went to a 'basket' weaving talk and demonstration - the global history of it all was absolutely fascinating!( Ray Mears eat yr heart out!)
Not quite sure what today will bring...but it's not raining! ....there npmay be a subtle clue there?
Hay fever is a pain in the rear, Nicos. I suffered badly for years with it but after I had my daughter it just disappeared. Sometimes I get slightly itchy eyes around hayfever season but that's it.
Woke up with headache but easing off now. I can feel it is warmer today already. Thank goodness for that. No evidence of sun but just being warmer will be a bonus hope everyone has a nice weekend. Got guests coming so really need to push myself to get up and tidy up.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.
Morning all. Well looks as if we are going to have another cracking day here again. I had to water everything last night. First time this year as I'm usually moving stuff about to protect from the cold or to stop them flooding out.
Well yesterday I planted out my toms and cucumbers. My sister got me this plastic diddy greenhouse, well she said it was diddy. But all I can say is diddy my bum. I started to build it indoors but soon realised it was massive. So had to dismantle it to get it through the back door, which the kids thought was very funny. Well its big enough to cover most of my toms in the raised beds which might mean I could get some toms this year.
Think it could be the park this morning before it gets too hot again. Will is going to have his stabilisers off today. Once they come off they never go back on.
Have a good day everyone and stay safe in the sun
A bit of a late start for me today. Done tour of GH and beds ..... And can now see some seedlings sprouting their way into the light! Lovely! It's only the mixed lettuce leaves - but it's a start!
Enjoy your (warmer..!) Saturday, all whatever you're up to ...!
