  • Evening all!

I couldn't get down the allotment today, I had to hang around while our local friendly mechanic picked up my son's car, took it for MOT, fixed it, re-tested it and brought it home. All because he needs it taxed and insured before Wednesday when he heads off to Download Festival. When he grows up he'll plan ahead, he's only 25 bless him.

Still, it meant I could potter around in the back garden in the sunshine. I emptied my second compost bin, the bottom half was well rotted. This meant I could lift some more forget-me-nots and wallflowers, spread the compost, add some pelleted chicken poo and plant out 15 Dahlias that have been straining at their pots.

      • It's been a beautiful sunny day and I was stuck behind my desk until 4 this afternoon. Still, I managed to water the tomatoes this evening and potter a little bit. It was so lovely to then sit outside and do absolutely nothing for half an hour. My bedding plants have been on order since the beginning of May. When they said it could be the end of June before they were delivered I thought "Hah - I bet they're here within 3 weeks". Couldn't have been more wrong They still haven't arrived, so most of my tubs are bare.
Only just noticed you've been ill SP, sorry to hear that and I hope you're back to full health very soon

            • Bit miffed tonight. Several posts I would have liked but I seem not to be able to.

              Anyone else havingsame problem?

Actually managed some time in the plot the last couple of days. Been tidying up the strawberry patch. You wouldn't believe the pile of weeds. Once that's done, it will be the blueberries getting the same treatment and then the net will go on. me mouth's watering already

                  • Good evening Folks, and yes AP, I have had problems also, but due to loss of internet signal, got a message that my system may not be secure and someone may be able to get information from it, I just hope if its bank details they pass them on to me, as I never use the internet for banking. Well a great day here very warm I could put up with this for an other couple of???months, out with one of the grandsons today, he is eight years old and you have to wonder where they get all their knowledge from, he asked me what the three rings of marriage are, when I told him I did not know he said they are, engagment ring, marriage ring and suffeRING. Well I wish you all a good night, I will go and ponder on how one so young can have such wisdom...........Goodnight
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

                          • Morning, lovely and bright here.
Forecast yesterday was a weather warning with rain from 6am all day
                            Hum, I don't think so
Had to chop bits off the crushed potato bins. Then tied them together to lend a bit of support. They do look straggly
My sweetcorn are struggling to recover from the sunstroke I subjected them to the other day. Never mind
The bean frame now has its strings on and they are romping away up it
Have a really nice day everyone

                              • Morning everyone.

Woke up feelng a bit 'meh' this morning. I think I may have cheeried myself out over the last few days and not even the sun will make a difference today.

Must, must, must go to the dump today, can't be at all bothered but it's only open certain days and I have a mini dump of my own growing in size in the garden so it really has to go today.

Think I need several cups of tea to get going first though.

See you all later, hope you all have a good day.
