Oh, bliss here! The heavens have opened and we have had rain! scarlet does a dance it's cooled everything down and has stopped for the afternoon. Looks like I can get some gardening done after all
Afternoon...thank you to the kind person who returned our sun! Gorgeous and sunny again.
Well Jay, thought I'd share a bit with you all up there ..... I'm positively cooking inside the GH --- just going to splash some more water around in there before everything frazzles --- including me -----!!!!
I'm not complaining about too much sun, really I'm not .........
Just been dropped back home from my delish pub-lunch. I had a very tasty crab and ginger salad - oh yes, and a white wine spritzer; yes, just the one, honest..!!! (Only 'cos Teresa had to go to work hahaha ....!!). Now I have the taste for it, you know what; I'm going to go on a hunt into the depths of the fridge, sure I've got an opened bottle of white lurking in there for cooking purposes - yes, really, I usually partake in a drop of red .... I know there's some lemonade, some ice cubes in the freezer, so why not? If I can't eat cake and drink wine on my birthday and my MOMship day, then when can I....????
Just back from Argos with cheapo desk fan. It's sat on the hearth and the dog is lying in front of it happy as a sand boy. Daughter and son are kinda at the edge glaring at the dog as they want in front of the fan too. Tough.
Empty Nest Syndrome Scarlett? Nah, you'll miss them, but it's a good miss and it's lovely to see them when they come home for a while, but a relief when they've gone for good
I'm not great on breakfast. I have a cup of tea early on could be anytime between 4am and 6am then I like a coffee about 9ish and then I might eat about 11ish. Most likely to be a savoury scone, teacake or toast with jam.
Breakfast: cup of tea on getting up or if I'm lucky while I'm still in bed, then a mug of very milky coffee a bit later on. Usually hungry about 11.30 or so. Might have a small sandwich then or try and hold out till early lunch, but that depends on work.
Breakfast: Tea: natural yoghurt, blueberries, grapes, banana, raspberries, blackberries - oh and of course (to help the ageing bod...) prunes..!!!! Not all the fruit all together everyday - depends what's available !!
Tea:tea >>>>then perhaps, more tea .....!!!!!
Thanks for all the breakfast ideas I've sort of got into a rut of having pinhead oatmeal, fruit, topped with yoghurt then at the weekend its a bacon sarnie.
Thanks for the weekend weather forecast Vixy...not! We will be in York Sunday, Monday and part of Tuesday, fingers crossed the weather is not terrible. Fridge is full for son so I guess he is going to have a few days of lazing around on the sofa with Harry dog, munching on the goodies!
To be fair Jay York is usually much warmer than here... saying that Pudsey has a micro climate all of its own! enjoy york.. I was there last weekend and it was fab
It's not so much me, more eldest daughter...
Took her guinea pig to the vets, he has an abscess but because of where it is, they can't remove it all, they'd have to knock him out, remove what they can and leave an open wound and hope it heals and the infection doesn't return.. the vet said it was pretty much 50/50 he'd survive the anaesthetic.. 50/50 he'd survive the invasive surgery.. and then only 50/50 the operation would prevent it coming back in a few weeks or months... and he'd suffer..they've advised it may be better to stop his suffering as he's Probably in a lot of pain... hes only one!
