  • Morning all! I've got a medical day today: hospital for a scan in the morning, dentist for some crown prep work in the afternoon. Ho hum. Still, looking at the weather I picked a good day for it!

Afterwards I need to pot up some chitted sweetcorn and dwarf french beans, but that will be the extent of my gardening today.

Have a nice day everyone and make sure you're ready with protection against the cold nights this weekend

      • Good morning all and its the weekend again. Where does the time go?
Off to town this morning to try to find a dress for my grandaughter who is making her conformation next month.
She is at the terrible "in between" size. We have been in and out of so many shops but they just dont have anything in her size, or if they do its not suitsble. Fingers crossed as we are running out of time and her mam is getting frazzled as she has now got a full time job and has less time to go shopping.
        Have a good day all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

              • Afternoon all
Very late in today. Had interweb issues this morning! All sorted now. Between the showers it looks very nice out there but it's flipping cold. So I've spent the day swearing at the laptop and printer. Made new signs for my barrow.
Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day

                • Prevening All. Lashing it down here and the heating is on it's so cold! I was going to turf out some of the bigger tomatoes tomorrow, but I think I'd better wait and see what weather it brings.

                  • Evening everyone.

Nothing done in the garden today, too wet. Rained on and off all day.

Checked the GH first thing, had a look to see if any seeds had put in an appearance in the garden, no, and came back inside. Now going to take the dog for a walk before having tea, pork chop, cauliflower cheese and mash, then TV for the evening.

                    • Well the weather dried up....for about 15 minutes

Trying to decide if its worth going to the plot tomorrow after all the rain today....I might just have to build a new brassica cage or sow some seeds in the greenhouse.

Such a hard life with all these decisions to make

It will lead me off to the pub for a couple of beers, then back tucked up early(ish) for running tomorrow morning.

                              • Busy this week, so only had a few moments to put my head round the door.

I'll be doing a Parkrun in the morning. Not sure if you've heard the hoo-ha in the news this week about a parish council voting to charge a parkrun for using their local park for an hour each week?

Parkruns are free, timed 5k runs taking place all over the country, and beyond. 850 venues. Best part of a 250,000 people sprinting, running, jogging, walking, pushing prams round three miles every week. All weathers, all manned by volunteers, all free.

The benefit to the health of the nation in these days of increasing lardiness is astonishing; and yet a local parish council has decided that they could do with a bit of revenue to maintain the local park, so what say we charge that bunch in trainers who drop by at the weekend?
