  • Morning all, lovely sunny and warm morning! Congrats NVG, so pleased for you! Enjoy your trip Trip! CG, that must have been an amazing sight...a fox walking a dog!

Congrats also to Tim Peake who has arrived safely back on earth!

Off out to buy some compost today to get my toms sorts. Was in the middle of doing it when I turned round and OH had lifted my bag of compost and used it for planting a tree he is trying to save!!! Toms had to wait!

Hope you all have a lovely day and the weather is kind to you.

    • Morning all!

Nice to see Tim Peake and co safely out of the capsule.

Won't be much gardening today - my daughter has come to visit as a Father's Day treat. Not sure what we'll do but it might well involve drinking!

      Have a good day everybody.

      • This is my second attempt at getting up today
I promise I only had two drinks last night, but had a flippin good dance
Was it Shakira that sung 'the hips dont lie'?
Well, they do, knees were letting me know how old they were, but hips were behaving perfectly
They lied, can barely move them this morning
My feet are freezing, can't get them warm even with hubby's socks on.
This is 3rd week in June, and I am wearing Ugg boots to work this afternoon, unheard of

        • Good morning Folks, well it's still morning when I start the note, nice warm morning got the clover bed cut and cut off some tree branches, ash, beech and hazel and all shredded so quite a productive morning, now off for a shower then OH wants to take me out for lunch, might be back on later. Enjoy the day.

          • Well it's back to winter temperatures again. Absolutely freezing! Sat with jumper on and even fingerless gloves as my hands are so cold. BRRR. Not a chance in **** I will go outside and do any gardening

Supposed to warm up some tomorrow. I really hope so because there are a lot of plants waiting to go outside.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

              • Skeggi, pretend its Monday, then it will be OK - in fact, it may be Monday for all I know
Been out clearing some ground of a plant (weed) that's been bugging me for years but I didn't know its name...........and before anyone says Brian or Derek ..........its Enchanter's Nightshade https://www.rhs.org.uk/Advice/Profile?PID=781
There is nothing at all enchanting about it. The flowers form little bobbly seeds, (like forgetmenot) and they stick in the dogs' fur and are difficult to remove.
Don't think I'll ever get rid of it but if I can stop it seeding its progress.
Hope you're all having a good day - and some sunshine

                • Evening All. Quick visit. Well done NVG My bedding plants arrived (120), all bedded in today. The snugs have had all my cauliflowers and all but 2 of the runner beans and all the French. Sowing more beans tomorrow, hope it's not too late? Found about a dozen snugs in my little stayput - they've even been eating my chillies! It's quite cold again tonight. Right, off to watch a film with a cheeky glass of white. See you soon, enjoy your evening

                  • Evening all. Don't know where the day has gone don't seemed to of done much and the day has gone.
Did have a wander down the garden or rather squelched down the garden to have a look at me seeds. Runner beans have got a few flowers on but they look very battered.
Dread to think what the allotment is like with the weeds. Bet the bindweed has gone mad with all the rain, damn stuff.
Thanks for all the congrats messages
                    Have a good evening everyone

                    • Evening
Am shattered tonight . Went out to parents complete with dog, some spare plants, collecting milk, mealworms and compost on the way, bought her a gladioli too
Set off rearranging greenhouse to get more toms in and more space , planting up various things, weeding, pruning, making cups of tea...dog disappeared just before I was heading home (secure garden ) , shouting and shouting ..she appeared at their front door. Grrrr dunno where she went, how she got there or how she got out. Madam !

                      • Good evening Folks, it was a nice pleasant day today, we went to a G.C. this afternoon, it may surprise some of you that I didn't buy anything, had a look at their pea and bean nets £4.99, capillary matting for one yard by 18in. wide £5.00, when on holiday down south a couple of years a go I got capillary matting at £2. odds a yard, I don't mind paying for something if its good value, but (perhaps I should be on the rant thread) I noted that on a previous post Scarlet advised me not to question my OH, I have taken that advice, no use being on a forum and not taking good advice (plus I am chicken) I also noted that Hazel seemed a bit disappointed with the fact a six K run did not burn up enough for a chocky biscuit, I remember reading somewhere that there was an enjoyable exercise that burned the equivalent of a nine mile hike, I would try that every day but it requires two and OH says no, well actually NO. Well I wish you all a good night enjoy the coming week, and may be tomorrow I will get somewhere where I can buy something

Horse ran very well. Made a a few novice type mistakes but still finished 2nd, so can't complain...
Got the bags packed so see you on the other side
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

Or Morning in my case! Know where ya coming from though Skeggi!

                              Morning All!

Just having a coffee before donning my coat to go reluctantly do a few hours at the breach!

Just about turning daylight & looking mild! & the birds are just about getting in tune

On a plus note, it being Sunday, should get away for around half one, two o'clock, so can squeeze an hour or two in at the plot on the way home.

                              Best get a "Wiggle" on!

                              Have a super Sunday everyone!

Looks like we're not due rain til this evening so I'll have a chance to play outside again today.
Need to tidy up and make good after yesterday's fence building.

                                ...plus the usual out there!

Got some friends staying at the end of the week so the inside needs a bit if attention too!

There really aren't enough hours in the day are there?
