  • Alarm went off at 6.00 am. Mr Snoop got up, as he said he would, and then spent a while on the internet before bringing me my requisite cup of tea. So not out till 7.00 am, but got all the watering done (including water up from the well) before it got too hot and the wasps came out.

So a good start to the day, but now I'm a bit fidgety and can't concentrate on work. But I'd better crack on, otherwise it'll never get done.

St. John's Day tomorrow. So today, the eve, is a big deal here, with all kinds of celebrations and events. We're off for a late night walk to a shrine in a nearby village where we will be served a most unsaintly coffee and cake and get to wash our face in St. John's Pool. Wonder if we do that before or after cake? Not much after all the fireworks and the bonfires in the middle of street junctions in Barcelona, but a lot more peaceful.

Hope you're all having a jolly time.

    • Shed and half the fences painted, along with me, the grass and concrete slabs around shed! More cleaning up than actually painting!

Well, on my bedroom windowsill, there are two rather huge Ancho chilli plants (and also 5 other smaller ones) - don't know if poor tweety thought they looked something nice to perch on ........

          • Lay awake for an hour or so just watching the sheet lightning and rumbling.
....came in sopping wet doing a superb immitation of Mr Darcy [/QUOTE]
Had a similar problem Nicos, but it was a light sheet, (covers pulled off) then the rumbling, that stopped when I moved in closer, I just need to touch and she turns, as for Mr. Darcy not required when I am here

It's been raining all afternoon and torrential at the moment. I have a hanging basket on the draining board having been rescued by hubby. Didn't realise how big it had grown, £4.99 from Lids
Garden is flooding further, it's such a shame
Hubby and I have arrived at a certain point in our life - he asked me if I would like to go to the GC and maybe have a coffee. Well, I had a toasty and tea and sat and watched all the 'oldies' toddle in for teacakes etc
We are officially part of that set lol

                • good evening Folks, it has been a nice day here today warm and dry but rain has just started, and should say heavy rain, so shouldn't need to water in the morning, planted up more flower tubs today, my plug plants are not growing very fast, I am wondering if the night temperatures are a bit low at times, as stated before some of the leaves in my baskets are showing cold conditions, cant do much about it so will live with it. Well I wish you all a good night, I think a lot of Grapes have been waiting for Friday, I don't have that problem, I some times have to go to the newsagents to check what day it is, fortunately you can do this without buying a paper. Goodnight

                    • Evening folks. I've just spent a very tedious hour and a half in the company of David Dimbleby and his interviewees - every one of which has said 'I don't know how the vote will turn out'; and all of a sudden we have the hint that the first result from Sunderland might be a boat-rocker, so now I'll have to stay up for a bit longer to see if that is actually the case.

As an aside, you have to admire the way that DD has filled the air time given that absolutely no one has anything to say.

                              • Well, David Dimbleby will still be yakking away when I get up tomorrow - he doesn't need me to keep him company, so I'll leave them all to it.

                                Nos da, all!
