Morning All..! Wet, wet, wet ...... and I'm not talking about music .......
And more of the wet stuff forecast for the rest of the day ..... It'll be a mooching/pottering in GH sort of day - after I've done the ironing.........
At least everything growing in my SFG beds are all looking nicely green ...... Even got a few beautiful red flowers on runner beans - miracle!
Have a great day folks!~~~ Gardening is medicine that does not need

Yup, it's that bad - I've just done a mercy dash out to my runner bean frame which was flapping about alarmingly in the lashing rain and wind .........~~~ Gardening is medicine that does not need

Morning all. In a hurry as the sun is out and I want to catch it while it is here I've realised that if you don't pick the mangetout every other day they grow to silly proportions so off to grab some.LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

I'm not really a glum person by nature ........ But ........
Morning all.
Sun appeared *briefly* yesterday evening ...... And it was out *briefly* this morning .....
Don't think it's here to stay though.... sigh
A quick appraisal of runner frame/beds/GH this morning - frame still up and the two flowers that emerged are now nestling in the soil ....sigh and another slug frenzy .....sigh
Beds have been battered by wind/rain - poppies have been stripped bare of petals and bent at all angles, borage salvaged with the aid of cane and twine ..... sigh
Sweetcorn is going to gave to be earthed up a bit today to strengthen it at root level - else I fear that'll be doomed to the great compost bin in the sky .....
Anyway, on that cheerful note ~ hope you have a productive day!~~~ Gardening is medicine that does not need
a prescription ... And with no limit on dosage.

Morning all, yep it's going to rain again - Arghhh
We gave just seen a sparrow hawk on our lawn and 3 little starlings hiding in our potato bins.
Just love it when the underdog survives.
My onions are residing fairly permanently in the shed, due to inclement weather
All five tomato plants are growing well, so sun would help these in a big way.
Potatoes are coming to the top of tubs now, so covering them up more and more. Must be nearly ready.
Will be card making today, so that will keep me busy for a couple of hours
Have a lovely day all, and if anyone finds the sun, share it nicely pleaseNannys make memories

Got dressed to drop of eldest DD to work as it was raining, then a yellow ball in the sky was trying to make an appearance and the wet stuff has stopped, straight out to decant one sack of coffee grounds into trays that will fit on the wooden shelves I added to the space saver greenhouse in the back garden and around the first row of toms in the flower buckets as a fertiliser and a barrier to wondering slugs who have damaged a couple of low leafs already.Last edited by Cadalot; 30-06-2016, 08:47 AM.
