  • Morning from an embrassed and stupid person! So OH and I went out for our meal last night to a pub that had closed last year and reopened with new owners. Food alright. Then went to the cinema and sat in our seats and thinking not many people. Go through the ads and then the film came up 'The Legend of Tarzan'. Confused or what, so looked at tickets, right screen and said Star Trek. Went out to ask and told it starts on 22nd July!!!! I had pre booked not seeing on the website that it said 'Up Comimg', just got excited Star Trek was on. Well the plus side is we have great seats in two weeks!!!! CG and Nicos were right. Would have been a film for you Bigmally. We did not watch it though as we came home and watched a film on sky.

                          • Yay it's raining! Hooray. With any luck it will start to fill up the water butts again. It has been such a hard week having to water so much because everything has been so incredibly dry. If it rains enough then it might just soften the turf enough so I can cut in a flower border that I want and plant some flowers out.

My inca berries have got some flowers on so pleased about that. Cucumber has stopped performing so I've shoved it out in the rain - takes up too much space in the PT if it's not going to grow any more cucumbers. Harsh I know But plants need to work for their upkeep.

Tomatoes getting nice big and green! Hurry up and start ripening please.

Been looking up recipes for runner beans and mangetout as have a glut of both. Having a stir fry today to use a load of mangetout. Put them in spag bol in the week and hubs thought they were nice in that - gave a bit of crunch.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

                            • Afternoon everyone! Have been working the last couple of days so just been catching up on the threads. I was so proud of my eight year old yesterday. Told him that it was his responsibility to look after the veggies and water the, whilst I was working if it had been sunny whilst I was at work. He took his role very seriously, told his daddy to leave him to it and watered all the plants nd even did a bit of debugging and weeding. He even tidied up after himself.......now to get him to tidy up his room when he finishes playing with such enthusiasm.

Btw nicks those puddings sound delish. Cherries are my favourite fruit too, you will have to give me the recipe.

It continued unabated so we moved on the 'Big Six' but seems to have stopped now :-)
