      • Perishing cold here now. We're forecast a thunderstorm for this afternoon and more tomorrow. Feels (and looks) like it could snow.

One good thing - well a couple, actually - had a good visit to our local market this morning, plus on the way back I noticed some blossom on a tree that we have always called the "hardwood tree", as that was how it was described to us. It was pretty well all dead wood when we arrived. Mr Snoop gave it a brutal prune and each year it has been growing bigger and today I spotted blossom on it for the first time ever in our time here. So it now has a name: rowan ash.

        • Well due to the lovely warm sunshine I didn't get round to actually washing the car but I did get all the gunk cleaned out round the windows. Have to take Harry dog to the vet so no time for car once the sun had moved round. Will do it tomorrow.

Now to break the news to doggy that he has to visit the v. e. t.!

            • After another lovely hot, sunny day, I arrived home in a frenzy of excitement ... ready to mow the back lawn. Not a chance! It squelches when I step on it and I can see the water oozing up. Aaarrrgghhh! When will it be dry enough?

Other than that a lovely day. Yesterday I got out the 'princess' tent I bought for grand-daughter over a year ago, in the vain hope that it was a 'pop-up' tent. Nope! After much muttering, struggling and 'assistance' from said toddler, I put it in the garage. It needs erecting when I am on my own and I can then store it, fully assembled in the conservatory.

              • Evening all Had a beautiful day. Been for a long walk in a local nature reserve and then came home and finished the raised beds off. All installed now and just waiting to be topped up with some lovely compost.

Seeds are ever so slowly poking through so fingers crossed the sunshine today will have helped speed up germination.

Been so hot think I might just treat myself to some ice cream. Will defo sleep tonight am shattered.

                Have great evening folks

                • Good e4veningFolks, that was one lovely day here today, though when emptying water from a pot there was ice on top, and the greenhouse had been down to +3.5c, so covered everything with fleece again tonight, after picking up the youingest grandson from nursery, we? washed the car I gave him a bucket and sponge, and three times I had to top him up, the bonnet must have been very dirty as he didnt manage to wash any other part, I was using a hose to wash off the soap, and ofcoarse he wanted to do it, its funny how quick they come when a hose is being used, not so funny how quick I finished up getting hit by the water,( he still hasnt mastered the art of just turning his head when I speak to him, the water goes where he looks) Last night I enjoyed the DVD that we watched, a nice easy to watch film, such a pitty there are not more like that. Well I wish you all a good night, I hope you all enjoy the good weather, dont worry about the forecast just enjoy each day as it comes, and Jay if you let me know when you plan on washing your car in future I will let you wash mine also, it would save me getting soaked. Goodnight

                  • Oooops. I had a meeting tonight that I was supposed to chair. I went to meet a friend earlier on and had a glass of wine followed by 2 hours in the garden. I stopped for a cuppa tea. Woke up 2 hours later to a cold mug of tea and less than 5 mins to get to my meeting. Let my vice chair continue since he'd started.

Sympathy vote from me. One of our dogs was sick in the night, nothing serious, just a load of grass and bone bits. Right in the doorway, but I managed to miss it. So that's a plus point for the day already!

Apologies to anyone who's having their breakfast and reading this.
