Thinking of you, Lottie. We're all rooting for you here on the Vine.
Very cold right now am back to my winter clothes! Feels ridiculous wearing a thick coat again near end of April.
Was very excited to see one of my inca berry seeds had popped up overnight - did quite the happy dance for that one as thought those were a no show. No strawbs yet though. But everything else is looking good.
While OH was out, I did some re-potting in kitchen as far too cold to go outside. If he finds out, he'll be fuming but I'm not telling ha ha
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.
No frost that I can see this morning, but it's too chilly for me to go looking for it. There will definitely be frosts in a couple of days, so I hope my potatoes don't make too much of a bid for escape from yesterday's earthing up
Snoop Puss if you get caught out again, shower your potatoes with cold water and shade them with newspaper or similar, the water washes off the ice and the shading prevents them being burnt from the suns rays being magnified by the water/ice on the leaves

Good evening Folks, not been round much recently, have been quite busy with G.Kids, during the day and in the greenhouse at night, had a slight accident with a grinder on Monday, was cutting a pipe, (part of a swing I was cutting up) when the grinder got snagged and spun out of my hands right across my knee fortunatly it was only the trousers that were baddly damaged and I just had to scrubb some dirt out the knee and bandage it, had to tell OH a plank slipped or I would never be allowed to use a grinder again, and yes I have used grinders for years, so remember no matter how experianced you are pay attention when working with power tools. It has been very cold the past few days although today was a bit warmer but did have some small falls of snow, had to go to hospital this morning and when finished I gave my OH a treat, I let her buy me my lunch (will have to watch I dont let her spend too much). Well I wish you all a good night, and one other thing when/if you hurt yourself be careful of suffering from shock, I wasd that busy trying to avoid OH seeing the damage to my trousers and leg I tossed the trousers into the bin, and it was acouple of days before I realized that I had not taken money out my pocket, so be warned. Goodnight

Morning
Hopefully you won't have any losses bigmally .
Hard frost here this morning, ground is solid, greenhouse was down to -4.6 , my growing lettuce compost is even solid in there but they seem happy enough. Luckily the sun hits it as soon as it's up.
The sun is shining but the rain is forecast followed by snow. Booooo.
I'd hoped to get a rose shifted this morning , it's too pale (creamy/peach ) for where it is , I think it should go between the red and orange ones. Will see what the grounds like. If I don't the heavy rain will turn the ground back to needing a mini digger
Better walk the dog, customer rocking up this morning first thing too.
Have a good day.
Morning all, bright, sunny and cold here.
No losses over night, but everything was covered or indoors.
I am so looking forward to sowing seeds when we return from holidays. Surely the weather will be warmer in Mid May ....
Today is the day before the big catering job, so I'm off to work this morning to take my mind off it.
Have a great day all
Good morning Folks, having some snow here at present but not too bad, greenhouse was down to4.5c through the night but every thing gets covered with fleece and if I forget there is always the air fans running, grandsons in since 7.30 so will need to go and get them ready for school, have a good day everyone and enjoy the day whatever the weather.
