Hello Folks, the sun is shining here and actualy quite warm,,,,,when in the greenhouse, just have to dodge the occasional shower, I decided to use some of my old compost from hanging baskets etc. but have discovered some vine weevle grubs in it, any suggestions of how to get rid of them without using chemicals? I have spent the last couple of hours riddling some of it, so now my shoulders are quite sore due to athritis, the good thing is I have been told that steeping lily bulbs in brandy is good for it, I am not sure if it has to be rubbed on or not, but as I dont have time to wait for it steeping I will try drinking some brandy, that way it might get to the source quicker. Well I might be back on later, it depends on how I feel, now should I just try one bottle or two?. Good afternoon to you all

afternoon all - back from a lovely (but cold) weekend down south and now trying not to fall asleep on the sofa!
Plants are all looking healthy, most of my tomatoes are now reaching the top of the windowsill so they're going to have to go out to the blowaway now whether they like it or not!
No sign of lettuce germination but I have 7 sweetcorns up and several of my potatoes have now broken ground.
Hopefully tomorrow will be nice enough for me to get out into the garden as I am off while OH is at work

Evening all, just back from a weekend in South Ayrshire, no internet other than cell phone. Terrible reception so internet free weekend! Need a while to catch up on the vine. Hope you all had a lovely weekend.
Sowed some Prairie Fire chillies on 11 April, by 27 there was not one single sign of anything happening so I sowed another load. Went away for a few days, came back tonight and guess what, the first lot have decided to show face!
Anyhoo off to catch up with everyone, have a lovely rest of the evening.sigpic
