P.S. being a mother in law is one of the most difficult roles in a family, especially if its MIL and DIL relationship.
It's not the mil /dil relationship problem it's the woman herself. She is manipulating, demanding, causes arguments , has no care for anyone other than herself ..including her only child (my OH).
It'd be lovely to have a mil who at least cared. There's lots of lovely ones out there.

    • I'm eagerly (impatiently .. !) waiting on the delivery of my soon-to-be-raised beds (scaffolding boards from Wickes) Just a bit concerned that I haven't had a text confirming today's delivery .....
Gosh I hope the delivery arrives safely. I had an absolute nightmare with a delivery from the same firm two summers ago. But ... when it does arrive you will be able to construct some excellent beds.

I've been a daughter in law (twice!) and had a distinctly 'careful' relationship with first MiL and am now a mother-in-law myself. I feel so lucky with my DiL, having two sons, a lovely DiL is almost as good as a daughter, or at least that is how it feels. She is a delightful 'girl' and a great mum and she makes my son happy. What more could you ask for?

        • Good morning. Hope Harry had a good night's sleep Jay22.

Shopping yesterday took a bit longer than I expected. So, planting has started this morning. So far all the onions in. No small feat. Melons, lettuce and sweet potatoes to go in next. And then this afternoon, we're off to a village 'romería', in the old days a proper pilgrimage to a nearby shrine but not quite so pious nowadays! It's very grey and windy, so I hope the rain holds off.

          Happy Saturday, one and all.

          • Me >

It's sunny here! Yay! There's no doubt the sun affects how I feel. Yesterday was dull, and so was I. Today I am off to Wickes and Homebase to get some wood for my new square foot bed and some gas for the soda stream (for me not the plants!)

Feel really sorry for poor Harry, I hate when animals hurt emotionally or physically. There was a poor dog in the vet hospital when my mutt was in and he just howled the whole time, he had a neurological disorder. It was heartbreaking to hear.

Anyway, give him an extra hug and a carrot to chew on. Carrots cure everything. At least they do according to my mutt.

I wish you all a peaceful and productive day doing whatever you want to be doing!

                        • Afternoon all - tense day in our house. We've sold our house, but the people owning the house we're buying are dragging their feet in confirming that they still want to proceeed. They only accepted the offer on Monday - how much can have changed?!

eek - really don't want to end up homeless!

I need to get in the garden to do some frost protection, and my PSB is now bolting - but the wind is freeeeezing and I'm strugging for motivation.

Hope you're all having a lovely day! Dot and Nicos I'll join you for a swift half
