  • Good morning all and the sun is still shining in spite of the doom and gloom weather forecast.
Off into town this morning to get the results of my eye tests from last Thursday.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

      • Positive vibes for Seven and for Susie!

Grey, cold and trying to rain here. Perfect plottering weather! I really don't like getting hot. Looking forward to the rain, but have decided I do need to go to the plot today, so I'm taking a small tub and watering can for the 2yo, which will put him in seventh heaven.

        Coffee helping.

As I've been 'enforced to rest' (which by the way is absolutely near killin' me...!!!) - I'm sitting with cappuccino in hand, iPad in the other, Toby dog lying prone catching 40 winks on the lawn, birds cheerily chatting to one another, a small aircraft droning high in the mottled, fluffs of cloud ....

                  • Invest in the rest, Susie.

My plan worked. Happy. Now on the sofa together for nap time.

It does sound pretty perfect You can browse for gardening ideas on your ipad while you rest. And browse the vine so you won't be lonely Are you able to sit down at a table and do some seed sowing into modules or something that you can do while you sit and rest as well? Enjoy the sun.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

                      • Afternoon or Midday all...

Sun has just disappeared, so forecasters may be right unfortunately
Work is of course as usual getting in the way of what I would like to be doing i.e. gardening and with rain due, might not get much done tonight when I get home..but hey-ho...
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

Well, after a disturbed night fretting about how far behind we are in the garden and veg plots generally , I decided( came to terms with the fact really) that I needed to drop everything and attack the garden.
So ...that's precisely what I've been up to.
Just come in to rest my back, spot of lunch and then get stuck in again.

I can see a Radox bath will be in order later on!

Thanks craftymarie, I feel like I do have friends out there, dropping in for a chat!
And yes, I have to plan out my SFG beds, so plenty to do! Also must read properly June issue of GYO instead of the usual thumb through, then buying the next months' copy and remembering I've not read the last issue ...

                              Have a productive/enjoyable afternoon, all

                              • I kept on thinking "I'll just weed up to that point there.....then that one, then until the drizzle gets heavier, then until the next cluster of weeds"......and suddenly it was lunch time!
                                Crazy how time flies by!

We have a gravel path along the side of the back garden where the washing line is and the lawn has crept over it over the years , so I've decided not just to weed it, but take it back to it's original width!
Must be nuts!.....3 barrow loads later and I'm only 1/3 of the way along!
It'll look so much better when it's been done ...it really was an overgrown mess..., and easier to get to the washing line.
