  • Mornin n'all n'all

Beautiful sunny start to the day !
If the grass dries out enough I hope to mow the front lawns this afternoon.
Can't believe how quickly it's growing.

Yesterday I was suddenly aware of the green tinges in the hedgerows and trees- won't be long before those leaves will be opening up folks!

It's not very nice here today. Wet, windy and cold again. A good day to catch up on house work and reading everything there is to be read on goose husbandry
          Have a good day everyone

          • Morning all Very wet start to day. Yesterday we got all the frames for the raised beds done. Next job is to dig up the turf and get them in place. Not sure if we'll be doing that today looking at the weather but it could clear up later.

Daughter goes back to school today so I got up at the crack of dawn to get things sorted. Don't like these early morning starts as I get older. I'd rather be back in bed.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

Sp I read that as GOOD husbandry which I assume would be husbands doing the house work (what ever that is)

Sunshine but a bit nippy out there! Off to see the cardiologist today for my six monthly check, will no doubt get the normal moans about weight etc. Nothing to eat or drink since yesterday as I also get my bloods taken.

Hopefully all will be well and I can make up for the lack of food later

                  • Morning all, pretty dull start today. Same as most of the country I suppose.
After all the entertaining yesterday a quiet day will be lovely.
Going to have a quick shed rummage for a suitable container to grow my new watercress seeds in - thanks again VC. If that doesn't work, then it's off to BQ on pensioners day
I have seeds sprouting in my 'salad container'. Not sure what they are, but radish is a good bet. Should be interesting ......
Any ways, have a lovely day peeps, be it lazy like mine or busy like most of the Grapes

                    • Morning!

I'm not sure what the weather's going to do today, so I'm going to put my golf clubs and seed potatoes in the car, go down the golf range for a bit then see if it's dry enough to stop off at the allotment and plant the potatoes.

That'll keep me out of trouble for a few hours, anyway.

Have a good day whatever you're doing!

                      • Good luck GL. Marie, are you digging over theturf where the raised beds are going?, if so, why not just cover the turf eith cardboard and put your soil on top of the c/b.

About 8ish, when I surfaced from my gwely, the mist was thick down over the city and the buildings were peeking out through it. Looked eerie but magical. Up here, the sky was blue and sunshiny.

                            • Morning all, no energy this morning. Can't be bothered doing anything today. It's dull and wet although the birds are singing at the top of their voices which is lovely! Think I will go have a cuppa before I start.
                              Have a great day all.

I didn't think of that. We removed the turf for one and stacked it elsewhere in garden to rot down because I read it can take up to 18 months to do that. Maybe I'm making it harder than it should be I also don't know whether to bother digging the soil underneath or just leave it and dump a load of new compost on top.
