  • Morning all! Cold start here this morning, dull and grey.
Son has his driving test later...please cross your fingers peeps. I so hope he passes. He was all over the place this morning with the other twin gloating that he'd already passed. Brotherly love? You've got to be kidding!

    • Grey and cloudy here which really suits the mood here. OH had news yesterday that his company ( large national company) are drastically cutting the redundancy rights and closing the pension scheme. Within 5 years of being able to take his pension early he now can't have it for another 12 years. My job doesn't get any better either but don't know what I'd do next.
Still sorting out mum's will, which is going to be contested and get messy. We had get solicitor's permission to enter our own mother's house over Easter. At least we have now located the deeds to her house.
No1 son is still unemployed 10 months after graduating, interview Monday so fingers crossed. So the gloomy weather really suits just now.

          • Morning all

Today I shall be putting peas in guttering & having my beard trimmed, which gets me wondering how many others on the planet will be doing exactly the same things today

            • Wendy, sorry to hear what youre going through. Bad enough loosing your mother eithout the added stress of a family squabble.
We had the same probem here with daughter being made redundent through no fault of her own and being out of a job for a year.
We are slso facing a threat (just heard yesterday) that an American firm here in Ireland are cutting jobs where my son in law works, so we now have that threat hanging over us.
All I can say is, it cant go on forever and things will get better.

Will this mean that you don't have to drive them to school any more?.

                              • I hope things turn around for you soon Wendy. It sounds like you've had an awful lot to deal with. Fingers crossed something comes good soon. It doesn't always feel like it but most things normally work themselves out in time.

Congrats Scarlet on your son passing his driving test and not having to endure his brother gloating any more

There seems to be a bit more action on the seed germination front. 6 Broccoli come up now a couple of tomatoes and the runner beans are bursting forth. Tomorrow we are trooping out to get some compost for the raised beds and some of that fabric you can plant through - don't know what that's called fabric "thingy" ? I just call everything thingy when I don't know what it is.

Had a good day in sun and just stuffed my face with macaroni cheese so can't complain
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.
