      • Afternoon, its turned windy here its howling in the chimneys but they hurricane pegs are holding the clothes on the line. Glad to see them working plus they're pretty colours but no good for holding netting to canes like the old wooden sprung ones were.

Does the pointy stick ever get used for anything but pointing? If so, should it not be a pokey stick?

Have a great evening all, despite aches/pains/hay fever/burst water pipes and ungrateful teenagers!

                    • Morning, morning
Got up to a lovely sunny sky.
We did have a slight frost overnight, but the covers did their work.
Shopping for the second buffet of the week, I will be glad when Friday comes and goes
After that it's a visit to see our daughter and grandchildren, so that will be nice
                      Will look in later

                      • No frost that I can see this morning, but it's too chilly for me to go looking for it. There will definitely be frosts in a couple of days, so I hope my potatoes don't make too much of a bid for escape from yesterday's earthing up meanwhile.

Bright morning. Gardening jobs for today: do some watering and remove the mesh from the broad beans and put in some rebar and twine round to support them in the wind. Maybe put some pea sticks in my bed of Douce Provence, which are looking lovely at the moment. An ought-to but probably-won't kind of job: weed the carrots.

                        Have a nice day, guys.

                        • Morning

I felt rubbish and freezing last night so had very early night.
Feel ok, have appt this afty. Joy, rather be in the greenhouse ,perhaps I will get a chance some point as I'd like to do rest of my cosmos..but il go see parents too once I've negotiated past the road surfacing men who will pull their face at anyone coming in or heading out
Just checked the greenhouse as there was the fern like ice on our velux this morning, I thought ohhhhhh nooooooo , but although I almost broke my neck stepping on sheet ice decking, greenhouse wasn't too bad -0.6.
It was sunny, cloudy now, who knows what later.

                          Have a good day.

A bright sunny blue sky and cold brrrrrrr ...
Going to pop along to B&M soon, see if I can grab any garden related bargains. Need tons more pots, strong twine, something trellissy for tromboncino plants, fleece(?!) etc and probably stuff I'll see and don't really need.....!

Hope you're feeling better soon CG !!

                            • Oh, so cold here though I'm loving having easy mornings. Still in my Jim jams, no time stuck in the car for me this morning My boys are a little disappointed, they thought that as they were driving in they could go a little later (I usually left at 7.25 to avoid traffic) and they would get a lie in...But all the free car parking spaces are gone by 8

My garden is white this morning, it will be awhile before the sun gets around to melt it away. This is much too cold for April! Blue, blue sky's though

                              • I've been looking at iPad pics. This time last year to the day we had same hailstone cold weather. It's a year since nephews wedding in Monday and it was freezing then. I think we need to do a warm sun dance to jig things along a bit
