Very busy day at work today with some important meetings that seem to have went well..
All done now either way so having a relaxing glass of red now...Roll on the Bank Holiday weekend

Morning All

Had one of those nights where sleep is not forthcoming Been up since just after 4am but will no doubt have a nap in the chair later. Significantly milder this morning which hopefully will become the trend as we prepare to enter May. As mentioned above, once retired, bank holiday weekends are the same as every other weekend but no doubt some of you are looking forward to that extra day off work.

Traditionally this weekend is the time I sow all my beans and second batch of sweetcorn but as its been so cold i haven't sown this first batch yet. Hopefully i will be able to sow with a little more confidence this week.

No snow to report over night although something seems to be falling from the sky now, just in time for dog walk
Weather looks grim all day (heavy rain) so whether I venture out into the cold brrrrrr greenhouse I'm not sure.
I can report 20 runners are up, not a single prizewinner though. May sow more scarlets.
Dill has come up and still not a single cuc. Think I will have to do those again. Never failed me before.

Anyway, even colder this morning than yesterday and due to get colder. Very hard frost. Haven't been and looked at the potatoes yet... Considered the newspaper option, Rary, but seeing as I have about 60 linear metres of potatoes, I don't think I've got enough. They'll have to take their chances unless Mr Snoop can come up with one of his (in)famous inventions. I think we've got a roll of black plastic somewhere in his junk pile...

But duller here today, I'm getting cheesed off with the constant cold. I haven't even sown my cucumbers . Boys have taken theirselves off too school and now I'm going to blitz the house (well, just for an hour ) then I'm going to make some sugar flowers. Time to be creative.

Morning all. I have been up for ages, woke at 5.40 and just could not get back to sleep properly. Gave up and finally got up at 6.40. The weather was atrocious here last night, brighter but quite chilly this morning. So, today - shopping, bit of domestic stuff and then off to Birmingham to be fitted with my new hearing aids . Tomorrow, down to Herefordshire for a gathering of the clan. It will be lovely to see everyone again, haven't seen everyone together since Christmas.

I haven't planted any sweetcorn yet either. It was MrQ's absolute favourite and now grand-daughter really likes it too, so I will plant some - perhaps later this afternoon.

Morning all, must have been a bad night all round as I hardly slept a wink myself. Son was off on an early flight to Paris this morning so maybe that's why I didn't sleep.
Harry dog, now that he is getting old, usually has a long lie and I mean a long lie, sometimes until lunchtime...today when I'm tired as heck he is up at the crack of dawn. Think I need to go live on a deserted island, just for a couple of days just to have a good nights sleep!
