Evening all,been a hot one here,have just used my £10 mum voucher and spent a bit more on,6 strawberry plants cherry berry,a grow pouch and 10 plug plants off fuchsia berry,something a bit different for next year.

Carrie,yes i carer each morning,it will be revued in aprox 10 to 14 days time,and yes i do nip out shopping on my own,plus he can get in and out the car on his own with a person standing guard hehe,he been down the plots with me but gets board quickly no matter where he is,i do have to wait in for people and things arriving,so my time is dependant on his needs,he kidded himself HE was going to try mow the grass earlier,the mower is electric ,have told him all he can do is watch,i did however get him to turn the outdoor tap on for me as that is in a safe place ,little things make him feel valued and helpful

Good evening Folks, it has been an other lovely day here, and not used to this last year the temperatures were running about 12c today 25c long may it continue, was in the greenhouse for a short time this evening, I will be starting to plant up more baskets, using the plants I bought at the same time as VC and SP. wonder how theirs are doing, I couldn't stay out very long as the midges are out in force just know, if this weather continues they will soon disappear. Well I wish you all a good night, hope you have a good week ahead, will have to go my wife wants me for something so it may be a Goodnight

I didn't know I had to let it die down. I waited until it was a low simmer. Iyswim.

Evening all...Sorry i havn't been active lately as i have health issues to take care of right now...Hope everyone is happy with their growing season so far...

Evening all. Been roasting toasting here today. Set the tent up in the garden for the kids to sit in to help them keep cool outside.
Job wise for the OH Lottie. My dad use to do the vacuuming for my mom, ideal if you have an up right vacuum. It gave him a little job to do and like you say makes him feel useful. Also the washing up all hand eye co ordination nothing breakable though, my dad use to do mainly pots and pans and plastic stuff to start off with.
If he gets bored get him to sit somewhere read out loud to himself. The speech therapist told my dad to do this as he had a slur and to help get his face muscles to move more. He started off with simple books like Peppa Pig and then something like a tv guide. Nice simple words. Its also a confidence giver.

A beautiful day here - perfect bbq conditions! And my 'baby' brother didn't burn (much!) - a couple of pieces of chicken wound up on the floor - = 2 happy doggies!

Nothing done in the garden, apart from slug patrol and watering babies in GH - I have plans for tomorrow - hope weather stays favourable ...

Morning all. Well bright and sunny here again today.
Busy day today as the kids go back to school tomorrow so we need to get dinner box stuff sorted and Will needs his hair cutting. My mom did cut it but he needs to go to the barber to get it well how shall we say it erm well un botched if possible.
Don't know what else we are doing, think it all depends how hot it gets.
Kettle is on. Anyone fancy a cuppa?

Tis the 72nd anniversary of the Normandy landings today.
I always feel it respectful to lend a few moments just thinking of all the lads ( and locals) who didn't make it through the next few weeks.

I was hoping to go to the Beaches today but OH has to work and my car is not now drivable because it's French equivalent of it's MOT ran out yesterday. The garage is waiting for a part

Not sure what caused the delays, but with all the rain and flooding and strikes going on over the past few weeks I'm sure there must be a backlog of orders coming from Germany through Paris and on to little old rural us.
Sometimes rural life does have it's drawbacks.
