    • Well I did the dump run and I'm glad I did because 15 minutes before I arrived, a skip had just been delivered full to the brim of new compost.

You're only supposed to get 2 x 25l bags worth per person per day free but I managed to scrounge 2 empty 100l bags which got filled to the brim so I left there a happy bunny.

It looks good, dark and crumbly. I'm off to get a couple of bags of manure to mix in as well now.

I might finally get my bed up and running now.

      • Just got back from the lotty with suspected sunstroke. The greenhouse was 41 degrees - even with the shading I put up and a couple of Tomato plants look as if they're cooked
Most of the Chilli plants also looked half fried, but put them outside and they seem to be recovering.
What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?

              • Lottie, it depends what you want to do with it. We have petrol ones at the allotment site and they are brilliant because they are 'heavy duty' and will cope with most things - thick nettles, docks etc. But they are reasonably heavy to carry and use. If you are just going to cut grass edges and the like then you won't need such a beast of a machine. Remember you are going to have to wield it!

                • Good evening Folks, it has been warm here again today, though felt quite muggy and have had a two or three very short showers, as we were free of grand children today I asked OH where she would like to go, her choice and pick somewhere nice, her choose was for us to go to the bank where I could lift out some money to pay for our holiday, so once that was done and the holiday paid, she went to pick clothes for said holiday,(I will wear the clothes I had last year) while she was doing that I had to go for a cup of tea, I think I was suffering from withdrawal symptoms. Well I wish you all a good night, I am for out to the greenhouse and make up some baskets I wonder if I could charge for putting them around the house,(I need to make up the holiday money some way) and just thinking the clothes I wore last year were the clothes I wore the year before. Goodnight

Some where sunny, will that rule out France, or do you get sun there at times.

ps. Bring skin so soft made by the people that must be near Stratford, that worked great when out on the hills

My absence since is not due to keeling over in a ditch, but being b*ggered after the race . I was not quite quick enough to hit my (ambitious) target time, but still a personal best by some considerable margin - hurrah!

Meanwhile, I've planted out all my tommies in the courtyard , and been stupidly busy work-wise. All this while being worried about 17yr old Domino cat who - despite being perky - is off his food. (yeah, yeah, circle of life 'n' all that - don't make it any easier when the circle turns to 'very old', does it? )
