  • Oh no, I'm so sorry to come on and read such bad news. My condolences to those who've pets have passed on and sympathy to Vix too - sorry about your house and hope you get better soon.

Been another long and hot day so I tried to make the most of it while the weather was fine. Look a right state as compost doesn't mix well with suncream so will need to go have a wash after much needed cuppa. Lots of yellow tomato flowers but no sign of fruit yet - getting impatient Lots of strawberries but all green. Anyway a good and tiring day. I shall sleep well.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

    • We finally got our hot, humid sunny day.
25C for the past 5 hrs...and yup...I decided to cut our back lawn before the rains start tomorrow.
      It'd grown almost 3" in 6 days

Still trying to cool down indoors.
      Glad it's done though

                  • Evening everyone and thanks for the kind words!

Very sorry to hear your news hazel.

I'm incredibly proud of daughter no.1 who made her decision (with a little help from Mum and Dad).

I think it was the right decision, and she saw it through to the end.

Of course there were tears but I think this experience is going to mould her long term.

Rodney spent the entire day out in his run in the garden, his favourite place.
Then he had a lot of cuddles and love before making a trip to the vets.

                    RIP Rodney.

                      • Such a brave and grown up decision. I had guinea pigs when I was little. They are so affectionate. A sad but necessary part of life's lessons. Well done both of you.

                              • Good evening Folks, sorry to read about the loss of the pets always sore no matter what age you or they were. Still warm here, but just heard the forecast and a change will be on the cards, but they have been wrong before. I decided to make an other swing for the grandchildren, this is to stop the fighting that goes on, so had it ready for them when they came home from school, I dropped them off and had to go straight back out, when I came back in, still fighting, both wanting the New swing, I think I will take my hearing aid out
I have a number of spare tomato plants at the moment, so I went out to collect some mole hills then mixed the soil with some compost and planted up some tomatoes for growing out side, so will see. Well I wish you all a good night have a good day tomorrow, and rememb its the start to the week end, now I am ready for my bed, I hope I get piece tonight, I didn't get much sleep last night (no, the covers were pull off my feet and they got cold) Goodnight
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
