Morning all, up since 6.30 and I don't even have to get up today, no work. Sod's Law isn't it ... I only ever seem sleepless on work nights. Warm and hazy here - will it rain? Gosh I hope so, if not here at home then down at the plot - PLEEEEASE!
Have paid for my holiday today, so I am definitely going now. My niece and I are walking the middle 55 miles of Hadrian's Wall in August. I am smiling as I type this. So important to have things to look forward to.
Had to pop out for a short while, weather is dark, drizzly and miserable.
I think I definitely have SAD, it's very noticeable the change in my mood between sunny days and depressing days.
Move over you Spanish lot, I is coming to stay.
Jealous Susie, all I have to look forward to is a day of house cleaning. You'd better get your walking shoes out in readiness for all the training you'll need to do. 55 miles - scary.
Great tribute Hazel, remember the happyness & love you gave each other over the years, smile at the memories of the silly moments that you can keep forever. xxx
He who smiles in the face of adversity, has already decided who to blame

Morning all! Susie, you had me in a tis - I thought it was Saturday as we only see you on weekends
Hazel, I'm lost for words, the time away from home will help. Captain, I love that photo I love Guinea pigs but the OH is very allergic. Son #2 has always kept gerbils it's sad when they go too.
I must crack on today, I'm feeling shattered but I don't know why, the garden just isn't coming together and I feel as if Ive got a mountain of work to tackle.
No worries, off out to friends for dinner tomorrow - you know, one of those places where you know you'll get lovely company and fab food...lots of laughs too.
Would like to take something different for pudding, any ideas?
Sounds like a great breakfast, NannySally Yum. Still waiting for more of our strawbs to ripen. Just give them a feed today so maybe that will speed things up
Daughters birthday party on Sunday so lots to remember to do. Need to make a list of things before I forget.
Runner beans making some lovely red and white flowers but no evidence of any beans yet. Never seen them grow before so no idea what I'm looking for. Will need to look that up.
Warm here but not sunny. I don't mind as lots to do. Hope everyone has a good Friday.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.
Morning
Dog walked, breakfasted on toms cooked with basil, a sprinkle of feta and some toast.
The forecast not showing rain til 5ish now so some more gardening to be done.
I've some flowers starting on my beans too, the flower goes and a bean appears
Everything is romping away, once the rain arrives the slugs and snails will too .....nooooooo.
Hoping to plant some more flowers /shrubs, earth up potatoes, plant dwarf beans, courgettes, squash, sp onions . Hope I've enough compost.
Have a good day.

Make a 'summer pudding', a chance to use up some of last year's fruit in your freezer? Maybe?

What about a basboosa cake served with nice ice cream..different
That's lovely, Nicos - thank you. I was looking through a load of photos last night. Made me cry, of course , but in a nice way.
Right - the housesitter is in residence, and I have a train to catch. I will be doing cultural things in Bath with my big sis. I have all clothing options available to cover rain, sun, cold and hot weather. Big sis manages to do this bringing one tiny overnight bag - beats me how she does it.
