Morning all... I've taken a cheeky last minute days holiday today as still feeling rubbish. I am feeling very listless as Martin said so I don't think I'll be gardening. Where is the sun when you need it?!

In a mad flash of hope I put out a load of washing to dry ...... Ha, what a plonker - had to dash straight back out and fetch it all in again ..... it's now chucking it down - again ....
I know it's good for the gardens, but I think they've had enough for now..!!!
I did manage (inbetweven precipitations...!) to plant some of my Mexican marigolds and mixed berry cornflowers which I'd grown from seed - didn't need to water them in!
Feel unmotivated today - better go and shower, do some boring housey stuff ... Online shopping has been ordered .... Might, finally watch the last episode of Call the Midwife that I never got around to watching ....~~~ Gardening is medicine that does not need
a prescription ... And with no limit on dosage.

Well, freezer defrosted (I have been putting this off for weeks and it took an hour - what a wimp I am), ironing done, load of washing just finished and it is thrashing it down out there. So, now what? May have to go to Al*i to get some toffees and then read my book! Naughty but nice.

Morning all
At last 'stuff' is starting to grow in the 'bee & insect' garden out the front that I spent weeks digging, weeding, raking & shaking last Autumn, first bloom is a near white poppy
Made new fence panels for the bottom of the veg' patch over the weekend, Mrs.BB planted the sweet peas in the experimental 'strip' bed at the base of the new panels, only 3" wide but filled with jack black to a minimum depth of 12", will be stapling netting to the fence panels for them to climb up when the rain stops. He who smiles in the face of adversity, has already decided who to blame

Evening all,
Popped out to the garden a few times today in between downpours for my ritual inspections
Work got in the way of everything else. Footie on now.
Hubby caught a bit of A Place in the Country earlier today where a community garden were training their squashes and pumpkins along the top of a picket fence. I think that's given him some ideas
Enjoy your evening everyone!

I think I might have broken my toe.
At home, I usually go about barefoot, I hate socks/shoes/slippers etc. I popped out to the garden (barefoot) to take a plant out and I belted my toe off the concrete step. I thought I'd staved it but I'm now wondering if it might be broken.
My daughter broke a toe and they told her there was nothing to do other than stick a plaster on it to keep it straight and wait for it to heal, so I haven't bothered getting it looked at. There's no point if they don't even x-ray it these days.
It's flipping sore now though and I can't walk on it properly.
Just came in for some sympathy before bed.
Not good containerg, they say things are sent to try us. I wish they wouldn't bother, I'm sure most of us would happily admit to where we were on the 'coping' scale without having to go through all the hassle and stress first. Sorry, can't pass the wine, bottle is finished now. Medicinal purposes you understand.
Tomorrow is a new day.

Good evening Folks, an other dull day here, then rain about 5 ish. not much done today, cut some hedges, then had to pick up grandsons from school, then had something on this evening so no greenhouse work today, will be busy all day tomorrow, so getting a bit frustrated, as I like to spend some time in the garden/greenhouse, (it takes me out the way of the housework) and Vixylix you could also try rubbing you foot with garlic when going to bed, take the green shoot out of a clove, that removes the garlic smell, then rub the clove over the sole of your foot wear a socks going to bed. Well talking of bed I think thats where I am heading, I will have to see about a hearing aid for wearing in bed, I keep getting asked are you for sleeping or what, no wonder I feel shattered Goodnightit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Thanks Rary but I'm not sure the OH would be impressed with that
GG - I'm terrible for ignoring things, and chances are they won't do anything at all - but I still have problems with my foot from ignoring a broken toe when I was 13 - I've had several ops and now live with the pain. Always worth getting it checked to be on the safe side!

Evening folks - just popping by. *waves
Had a lovely weekend with my big sis in Bath - we stopped at the Loch Fyne 'restaurant-with-rooms' (rather than a hotel-with-inferior-restaurant) smack in the middle of the City.
It's been converted from an old bank, and we were on the third floor, 74 steps up and big sis complained mightily because there are only 10 stairs in her tiny cottage (she phoned her hubby and made him count them). No lift. In contrast, our victorian terrace has 3 floors and I have a mind like a sieve so am up and down like a fiddler's elbow.
I'm fit, but found it a real workout pounding up them several times a day (back from breakfast/walk after dinner/nip out to get the paper/trip to Jane Austen experience & Assembly Rooms etc etc. Brilliant views of the City from our room, to compensate, and TBH, I enjoyed the challenge - you could feel your bottom muscles, hamstings and calves perking up no end (even if the heartrate was somewhat elevated by the time you got to the top).
