      • and there she was - gone It's so hot and sticky, even with the rain. Perfect weather for snugs and my arthritic knees. Good for the beans though, well, the ones that have survived the snugs

        • A very good moist' mild morning .....
Just debating whether or not to do the washing Hokey Cokey .....?
Even though it wasn't actually raining when out on morning walkies duties - it was soaking wet everywhere - ridiculous to think, togged up more now for the wet weather, than most days in the winter...!!!!!

          • Morning everyone, looks like another dreary, damp wet day! Really does stop you doing what you want to do!

Off to our 'film society ' this evening, seeing a film called 'War', fun eh?

Hi everyone. Saw your post this morning CG. My FiL also has the shakes, usually gets worse when he gets wound up about something or he isn't eating very well. He saw a specialist who gave he its not Parkinsons but it is Parkinsons but there is no treatment apart from an operation. Which frightened the life out of him. I think his doctor has given him some tablets which are helping him.
The specialist did tell him he could have a drink of alcohol at night and that might help so he decided to try cider. So OH called in one day to see how it was going and he complained he couldn't get on with this modern cider stuff. Turns out he'd been trying to drink White Diamond.
So I hope everything goes OK for you today CG.
I survived 8 shops with my mom yesterday. Did manage to get a new top and a new pair of trousers that actually fit properly.
Today is hair colouring day. Going, in theory, a light brown.

                    • On broken toes: in most cases, there isn't much doctors can do. I dropped the end of a beam I was carrying on my toe a few years back. Absolute agony. I went to the hospital here. Doctor was very nice. She told Mr Snoop off for making me carry the beam and then said there must have been some swearing went on. How did she know? We live 45 km from the hospital, so she can't have heard me.

Very good advice here, gardening gal, about what to do and when to go to the hospital: Broken toe - NHS Choices
That said, go if you're in any doubt.

On chicken-coop cleaning: job for me for today too. Along with watering seedlings this morning and getting water up from well this evening.

And a thought from Mr Snoop, announced out of the blue: Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious really ought to be two words, divided thus supercalifragilistic expialidocious

Eeh, we make us own fun here.

Hope you all have fun today. Look after those toes.

                      • Morning all - we have had big rain, at long last
I heard every spot of it in the night lol
Now it's dull and cool, with the threat of more rain later
Going to the GC later to look at shrubs and flowers
                        Have a good one

                        • Morning all!

I did go down to the allotment yesterday. I spent a happy couple of hours barrowing chippings from the car park to my plot, spreading it onto my paths while dodging the showers. I'm planning to do a bit more today, but first I have to watch the live stream of the demolition of the Las Vegas Riviera hotel. For some reason they have to put on a fireworks display first. Ah, Vegas! If you're interested it's scheduled for 10:30 am our time and the live stream is here: Live news video - FOX5 Vegas - KVVU

Thanks NG, she is definitely worse when anxious, she is on tablets for that now. Tablets were mentioned to her yesterday, we are trying to piece info together as they called her with a cancellation so off she went not telling us (too expensive ringing anyone) , I have part info from her, then part info from OH ...so I'm going to find out what's what.
Oh that cider ewwwwwwww. Memories of that stuff.
Well done on your shopping trip
Sure the hair will look fab.

                            • ......had a phone call from my manager at work this morning, saying that they (there's two of 'em....) are calling in to see me tomorrow about 12 o'clock ....
Been off work now for, well it'll be 5 weeks this Thursday ...
Why am I nervous about them coming to my house .......?
My friends at work have been keeping in touch. And today I hear they are taking someone new on in the department where I work ~ even tho' the mantra they recite when I want to book annual leave at same time as someone else is "WE'RE OVER-STAFFED". Can't work it out. But I feel jittery .......

                              • Good luck, SusieG. Hope it goes OK.

Do you have a union rep or someone similar where you work? If so, give them a call, see if you can get some advice or perhaps even someone to be there with you when they come round. If you can't get a union rep, ask a friend or relative. It's not confrontational: there are two of them! Sometimes an outside person can make sure everything is covered as well. It's a bit like going to the doctor's sometimes: there are always questions you think of afterwards and someone who isn't directly having to listen and answer questions can pick things up.

                                Big hugs.
