I'm planning to do a bit more today, but first I have to watch the live stream of the demolition of the Las Vegas Riviera hotel. For some reason they have to put on a fireworks display first. Ah, Vegas! If you're interested it's scheduled for 10:30 am our time and the live stream is here: Live news video - FOX5 Vegas - KVVU
Martin, an acquaintance of mine has a room in the Encore Tower Suite and will be filming from his room.
Looking forward to watching. Won't be shedding a tear, never went there after they imploded the Stardust etc up that end

Do you have a union rep or someone similar where you work? If so, give them a call, see if you can get some advice or perhaps even someone to be there with you when they come round. If you can't get a union rep, ask a friend or relative. It's not confrontational: there are two of them! Sometimes an outside person can make sure everything is covered as well. It's a bit like going to the doctor's sometimes: there are always questions you think of afterwards and someone who isn't directly having to listen and answer questions can pick things up.

      Big hugs.
Thank you Snoop Puss, I'm not in the union (as it was 'frowned on' when I first started there, although some of the 'newer' girls have since joined - just not got around to it ......... )
It makes sense as you say, to have someone else with me ... trouble is DH is at work, and girlies I work with are, well, at work...! Ditto with brothers/big son - I've got no one else to ask....
I'll just have to 'man-up' - I could always record it on my phone ..... Or is that being paranoid ......!!!

        • Phone the union rep anyway. You never know. They always like to look useful. Plus if you give a good report back, more people might join. I've seen that work, and it's always worth trying. They can only say no, so you're no worse off than you are now. Even if they don't want to attend the meeting, they might give you some advice over the phone. I wouldn't ask anyone you work with, as they might feel awkward.

Another option is to phone your managers back and re-arrange for a time when you can have someone there. I don't see that they can object. You can tell them you want someone there too. They can't object to that either.

Manning-up isn't easy in these situations.

          • Artnoon All. Drizzly and not very tempting!

Susie - wish I lived nearer, I'd come round with my pointy stick and insist they play nice! Do try to have someone with you, they remember things that you might not. Of course, they may be visiting with flowers and a get well soon card, in which case you'll need your "friend" to find a vase and dust the mantlepiece.
I've taken little Spud to be groomed today. Just had a call to say its taking longer than expected - Bess took 4 hours, Spud is predicted to take 3! Bet he's going to look cute - as cute as a curly rat
After dropping Spud, I went to H0meb@se and bought some yellow stickered white pinks - confused? Big chunky plants so I should be able to take lots of cuttings - I like that
Spent a long time "helping" a man choose a climbing rose. En masse, in the display, they looked good, but each plant had some damage, or needed a bit of TLC. I'd have expected better for £15.
Right, what's to eat? I'm feeling peckish

              • Thanks VC - I'll have your virtual 'pointy stick' right there ready to prod if they look at me wrong ......
(It won't be card/flowers - I was sent some M&S flowers on Saturday .... from 'All at the Unit' ...)
I'm probably just getting this all out of proportion ....

Hope your lovely little 'fluffy rat' has behaved and now looks cuddlesome!

Managed to motivate myself a bit when the sun peeped out earlier - shuffled off to GH - tied in the growing tom plants and took off a few new side shoots. Watered everything.
Fed my new Jersey blueberry bush and used RAINWATER!! (Quite an amount gathered over last few days..)
And had to scatter more (pet friendly..) slug pellets around decimated runners ....

Sun's still out here! Makes a huge difference to the state of mind.

Have a productive afternoon all - just going to have a browse through GYO mag that was with my shopping order delivered earlier.

Susie! You can always ring them in the morning and say you would much prefer to come into work to have the meeting, that is totally your perogative, meeting on home ground as it were.

That way you could also ask one of the other girls at work to attend the meeting with you as your representative, they cannot disagree to this arrangement.

But to be honest and to put your mind at a little rest, I think you are reading a little too much into this, as it is normal protocol for management to follow this process for anyone they deem to be on long term sick leave, so really I wouldn't worry too much!

                      Evening Everyone!

                            • Good evening Folks, the day started dull but the cloud cover broke up and we got sunny spells where it got quite warm, planted up some shallots, got them cheap, and potted on some geraniums, also hung out some washing as OH was out, now trying to work out how women think and their minds work, by the time she came home the washing was dry, but apparently I had hung it up all wrong!Well I wish you all a good night, I am off to ponder on how washing hung out to dry can be wrong when it dries as required, just been informed I didn't have it in the right orderI am lost. Goodnight
