Didn't know nettles could grow to over 6' high. Can't see the only wanted plant in the garden. I'm not going to do anything about it until someone sorts my nasty neighbour out. I've tried but he thinks he can bully me. In a way he's right but, ...but.

Evening All
Been a wet wet wet day - but never mind, I went to Morries this afternoon and bought 53 items for £15 - and that included some full price things like butter, milk and sugar. All the rest was 9p
This evening I had cheese & onion quiche, coleslaw and beetroot salad and grapes = 36p and there's half left for tomorrow I'll be living on the cheap this week !
Everyone OK and looking forward to tomorrow

Evening all. Apologies for recent absence but been busy.

New house getting there. Kitchen was liveable but been a huge amount of work done over last 10 weks or so in the rest of the house. Summary. Both bedrooms now completely redecorated(one part re-floored) and ready for carpets. Minor paintwork to complete in vestibule and hall but new doors painted and fitted as is laminate flooring. Looking rather swish. Lounge waiting for installation of log burning stove but otherwise ready for carpet. Loft been floored and lined with plasterboard, electrical sockets installed up there as partof complete rewire. Got huge amount of storage up there which is great as we are downsizing from 3 bedrooms to two and there is sufficient space for a man/woman cave as well.

Bathroom gutted and now tiled and floored. Bath is installed and shower, toilet, basin and heated towel rail will be fitted Thursday or Friday.

So getting to the exciting moving in bit quite quickly.

Not before time though as I am knackered.


Still got to deal with serious woodworm in garage. Roof is coming off and being redone. Felt shingles will be replaced with slate coloured profile sheeting but that was put on back burner until inside house stuff done.

So all in all, not quite complete but getting there.

Funny thing is, I can't remember when we stopped hitting troublesome things/hit bottom so to speak and started seeing daylight again on the way up. Whatever, feels good now

Been wet here since teatime VC . I rescued some begonia bedding from B&Q this morning - 50p per tray
and intended plantingthese out after teatime. Have to be tomorrow now

Been awake for over an hour watching it get light.
I checked on the Wunderground weather site I use and apparently today has a full moon ( hidden behind rain clouds no less) .....and today is 1 second longer than tomorrow daylight wise!

Got lots of splashy stuff going on out there.

I'm so glad we managed to get all the lawns cut yesterday cos it looks like we're in for a very wet week ahead.
And get this.....not only did I get to play with the pressure hose yesterday, but I used a sit on mower for the first time!
Our friend is moving house and has a tiny lawned area , so we're rehoming it ...so this was my initiation ceremony!

Hibou says 'Mornin!' to you all, and although she thought she was desperate to go out, now she's seen the rain she's decided she'd rather not!...so back to sleep it is.
Sounds like a plan for me too ......

Morning all, it's rained all night and due for all day. Could someone relocate Wimbledon to November please?
My Sister from Somerset is paying a visit today, she has been visiting a friend in a very nearby town and thought she'd call in.
Nothing strange about that, apart from the fact get she's been visiting this friend for 20 years and never once took the 10 minute drive to see her sister .......
Anyway, tea will be made and it will only be a short one as I have to work today
Did all my washing yesterday and it dried quickly due to the wind. Next washing day is ?
My onions are getting quite large, how will I know when to lift them please?

Morning all from another dank Nestland, bonus is it should clear by lunch time.........................Sal, the leaves will start to go yellow & die, when they do just lift the onions and lay them out for a few hours to dry out..........in a sunny spot if poss.........

Morning all, brightish with showers this morning. Had a better sleep last night although H dog decided it may be a good idea to get up and have a play at 6.20am! Other days I'm dragging him out of bed at lunch time...or even later!!
