  • Morning all, it's dull and cool, and rain is on its way! Engineer is coming to service the boiler, garage is still a disaster area. I clear it and it all comes back. OH says that should be the dumping ground for things, fair enough, but we also have a bedroom and study which are also dumping grounds!

Hope you all have a lovely day!

      • Morning All!
Its bright but not sunny but the rain hasn't arrived yet so I'd better do summat useful (for a change)!
Jay, I have one dumping ground - its called a house.
Have a great day everyone - whatever you're doing/not doing!

        • Good to know I'm not the only one who pops out in dressing gown. We only have one set of neighbours who could possibly see me out of a bedroom window as the other next door is a bungalow and the house at the bottom of our garden is also a bungalow.

NannySally I am jealous of your onions. Ours won't be ready until late summer, if they work out, so long time to wait. In the meantime I've been watching how to do the plaiting on youtube. Unfortunately I am useless with plaiting my daughter's hair so I hope I can manage a better job with onions
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

          • Morning!

I'm over a hundred miles away from home right now but guess what I'm going to be doing today?

Weeding! And possibly going to the dump. This seems to be a recurring theme for me these days.

I don't know why we don't all just learn to love weeds. My life would be so much easier.

Have a good one, no matter what you're doing today.

            • Good morning,

Off to the allotment this afternoon. Need to clean the glass in the other greenhouse so I can plant my toms in there. Not going to do any weeding today as it is going to rain later. Also going to put some straw down for the strawberry beds.

Going to stick the kettle on, anyone want a brew?

                  Morning all..
Last day of our holiday sadly, as we fly home tomorrow morning

Had a great time with the kids so have really enjoyed it..Also feel fully recharged from doing nothing..Although I have just remembered that I signed up to do a 90km cycle at the weekend, so that should be fun

I am looking forward to seeing how the garden is though..
Lots sure to have happened in 10 days..including the slugs running amok
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

                  • Trip, that was the only thing I was looking forward to, getting home to see how all my plants had grown.
Dont want to depress you but the forecast for the rest of the week in unsettled weather and heavy showers.
Enjoy the rest of your holidays.

                    • Morning, nice to see the smiling face in the sky,if only for a fleeting moment,a few weeks ago i felt a bit dissapointed at not having time to grow, but now are thinking everything's all right,as the season seems to have gone awol, and everyone is having problems,so i lost nothing only a few plants grown from seed, what i have noticed is ,the radish are not setting seed and pods, not that i really want them, but they usually go mad, toms are now starting to grow up,all we can do is go with the flow and hope next year will be better, all this gives us extra time to get prept for next season before the winter strikes,so lets all try to be possitive, yes i know i am mad hehehe.

                        • Afternoon all. Nipped down the allotment this morning and pulled up plenty of weeds, still loads left.
Dug up some more spuds and gave some to my mom and dad. So that's them happy.
Raining here now. Going to get very wet picking the kids up
                          Have a good afternoon everyone

                            • Good afternoon Folks, a dull day here today, not a good day for drying clothes or so I have been informed, have potted on some geraniums and begonias, I don't have as many as I thought I would have, I will need to stop giving them away, (and I give them free of charge, really need to break that habit) Was at the school prize giving this morning I quite enjoyed that, but that means one more day to go till school holidays, I just hope my patience holds out for the next six weeks, I think I will start a petition to abolish school holidays. BMs right Jay you can never have too many dumping grounds, but unlike VC I can't use the full house as I have a restrictor in the home, and she's like you wouldn't have any if it was up to her. Will have to go and see what's for the boy's tea and see if they want Fed before their mum and dad come in, just thinking on that last paragraph, how come she can remember about carpets etc. but forgets about the vow about obeying?. Goodbye
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
