So sorry to read of your bad times, CG. Let's hope July is so much better for you. I wondered today where you were. Exciting about the tadpoles - be little frogs soon. I saw a tiny little frog in the garden a few days back about the size of a fingernail. Trouble is they are hard to spot so hope I don't tread on ant by accident.
SP: what wonderful cane toppers. They are really lovely, never seen any like that before. Lucky
Been a funny old day. Weather cannot make up its mind. I have opened and closed the PT about 4 or 5 times as its gone from hot to cold and calm to stormy and rain. Got a lot done despite this. Have potted on all my flowers that I'm growing from seed, my inca berries which are suddenly getting some tiny berries on and sowed my second lot of runners which will hopefully take us through as long as poss with those.
Been hacking away at bramble which was hard work but I won in the end and now there is more space for some prettier plants.
Off for a rest now. Good evening all
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

I've just spent 3 hours on my plot clearing weeds and tidying up. Probably means that I'll scrape through inspection tomorrow - first Sunday of the month the committee take a walk round and check plots. I always think it would be a bit embarrassing if I have to send myself a warning letter (as I'm on the committee) - its been close a couple of times.

1574 gin and tonics please Monica, large ones.
LD is there any chance of setting up some kind of high up small raised beds? Mr LD could them do some bits and bobs himself.
Oh and it's raining again............for the umteenth time today.
SP - please say Well Done to Mr SP. Could he connect them together in a ring to use on the tops of climbing bean canes to add a bit more stability in the wind?
I would love a few of those as I would be tempted to paint them, stik on wings and call them my butterflies.
Not a chance lumpy,he is not a gardener,he cannot use his right side,i did try him with the flatter hoe last week, whilst sitting in a chair trying to get the grass from between the slabs, was to hard for him, plus gets tired very quick bless him, plus he seems not to concentrate on any 1 thing for long, thanks for the suggestion,he is a weld it,screw it together outside man.

Well done to you, Lottie, and to MR LD - your good sense of humour must help when things get a bit tricky! He is lucky to have you.
I'm confined to the lap top in the kitchen tonight, as the office is in the middle of a Deep Clean . I took some pics to show you, but now realise that the cable is in the muddle somewhere, so I can;t upload.
