    Never made it before!
My oven went off after 20 mins too!

Yup mine is pretty soggy, but nice with a bit of butter on it...bit like tea bread perhaps?
I like the flavour . This lunchtime a cut a slice put on a dollop of thick cream and sliced a peach onto it...and it was a delish combination!
one of the reviews said it was nice and moist inside.

    • Nicos had a slice with my tea and it's not too bad. It became a bit lighter as it cooled.

        • If you have some ripe bananas I would say yes. Wonder if instead of using two bananas you used only one if it would make a difference?

Just about to go catch my train for the journey home.
            Have a good day everyone

my banana cake is quite light and fluffy ( recipe uses 2 bananas, don't know if it's the same one though) but it has to stay in the oven for twice as long as the recipe says )

                    • Morning everyone. Weather seems good here, cloudy but sun trying to come out. Lovely listening to the birds which is a lot nicer than the news? Exciting day today I am in the garden all day. Will be on forum with lots of questions, very likely.
                      Hope sports day goes well.

                      • Eugh, sports day. My daughter hates it because she's not sporty at all and it has always upset her that she cannot run as fast as other kids and always comes last. We have to sit through 2-3 hours (last year in unbearable heat) to watch her compete in 1 thing that they're required to find her to do. Great for kids who enjoy it but not so great for kids like mine - she would honestly rather sit a maths paper than do sports.

Currently wishing for rain. Our water butts are empty for the very first time this year and have been empty for past 3 days. Soil is very dry and cracked on top so a real job to keep stuff like the marrows and squash watered enough.

Looking forward to lunch as hubby is taking me out for a meal. Not a special occasion either so that's even better.

Hope you have a good day all

                        • Morning all, up early this morning as Harry dog had another small fit. He is back in bed sound asleep and I'm here! Still dull but dry although the ground is sodden.
Hope you all have a lovely day. Safe trip SP, hope sports day goes well NVG and I'll say yes please to that cuppa since Shen is off for the croissants!

Cover it in custard i find that always helps when cakes turn out 'different'
