Hi Jay, what channel is that please. I like to watch as many garden shows as poss

Afternoon all. Been weird day. Very hot and humid, very windy but just fits and starts of rain. We still have one empty water butt and one which is only half full. Worst drought I can remember in a long, long time. It is rare for garden to be so dry.

It says rain tomorrow so I hope we get a really good soaking and not just this drizzle which is no good to me or the garden.

I seem to have an allergy to squash leaves. I was picking out some yellow leaves in the jungly mass and my arms suddenly went red and itchy. Next time I'd better wear gloves.

Eating runners and mangetout galore so before hubby says "not this s***e again" I've been busy looking up new recipes so he can't complain. Just had a nice meal of tagliatelle pasta with bacon, onions, runner beans and some creme fraiche which was pretty tasty.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

With that budget, they could at least have trimmed the hedge at the bottom of the garden!

But I agree, they made a nice living space out of it. No room for veggies, but that wasn't the brief.

              • What started as a bright morning turned grey, wind picked up a blow the clouds away. Wind died and clouds rolled back in. Absolutely lashing down now!

                      • Lovely day at Horning - sun shone right up until we arrived back at the lodge and then down came the rain but it did not last long - Horning never changes - a lovely one horse town - gave the swimming a miss so got dropped off at the New Inn end, strolled about for all the 15-20 minutes it takes to walk the length of the street dropping in to the odd shop on the way - had a coffee and fruit scone at a nice small cafe - then walked out the mile or so to the Ferry Inn end just in time to catch the swimmers coming out of the pool - Ferry Inn for lunch - then a lovely return boat trip. :-)
