Lovely morning. God up early and spent about 45 minutes picking mangetout and runner beans. The mangetout is very hard to pick with the ones growing right at the back. I ended up on all fours trying to reach some them which must have looked very odd indeed
Picked my first small marrow as a courgette. Got two big ones (oh er missus!) am leaving to grow on and mature so I was out there with my measuring tape. Gawd knows what the neighbours think to all this and me shouting to hubby that its not big enough yet Talk about a right carry on.
Busy week. Got daughters school play tomorrow morning and then sports day Thursday morning. So not loads of gardening time. Might have to try getting up early.

My thoughts are with you, Deano. It's so sad to lose a member of the family.
This afternoon I dodged the showers to go down to the allotment. A community of travellers have parked up nearby so I thought I'd bring some tools home out of my unlocked shed. I wouldn't want the travellers to be blamed for any disappearences, they get enough stick as it is.
While I was there I picked a small tupperware of raspberries (Glen Ample) and a big bunch of flowers that were looking a bit sorry for themselves with the wind and rain. The house is full of vases now, which is lovely.
I think I'll watch Charlie Dimmock in a few minutes, while we're waiting for the Labour NEC ruling. Then I have to go out and drink wine with old workmates. Well, someone has to encourage them to keep working!
Have a good rest-of-the-day, everyone.

Evening All!
Don't know where the day has gone.............but it has
Took my car to the garage to have a slow puncture mended - except it wasn't a puncture but a leaky rim. I'm told its very common but I've never had a leak there before! Some rude comments were made about cleaning the wheels more often
My neighbour's just given me a potted 6' sunflower I love sunflowers but have no joy growing them. Must try harder next year!
Hope you're all OK.
Thinking of you and yours, Deano xx

Evening all. Hope everything went ok for you, your family and for Marley today Deano.
I went to allotment and found I had got a marrow hidden away so that got picked before the slugs got it.
Then it started to drizzle a bit then the heavens opened. Got soaked running back to the car.
Then off to work again. Surprised how much my legs ache rushing around all the time.
Have a good evening everyonesigpic
