  • Beautiful pendants, Scarlet. Looks like you're going to suddenly have lots of friends!

Chilly night again last night, I think. Slept like a log but the bedroom was a regulation 18 ºC when I woke up. The coolest it's been for a while. Think it'll be the last cold night till the autumn. The sun is back out with a vengeance today. Mr Snoop met someone in the village yesterday who also have a veg patch. He's been watering twice a day and still his plants are dying. So not just me, then. It's terrible for the old boys: what they don't grow, they have to pay for and they really don't have much in the way of cash.

    • Beautiful pendants Scarlet. I have always fancied a go at cold enameling. I often watch the Craft and Jewellery making pay TV channels, they often have the Efcolor kits on there. Not as clever as the "real thing" that you made though, they are lovely

        • Not a bad day today - a little drizzle but not much - temp in polytunnel reached 83deg. - I had lifted some onions and put them in the poly to dry off 3-4 weeks ago and it worked perfectly - filled an onion bag with them and lifted some more to take their place and leave plenty of room round the biggest onion on the site which is slightly smaller than last years but stll pretty good for an overwintering onion. Handed out some more beetroot to 3 of my friends on the allotment whose own is not up to the mark. :-)

              • What a fantastic day weatherwise. Sun shone all day with a clear blue sky. Rose festival was a real hit, wall to wall people and a great atmosphere. Bought lots of chutneys, cakes, plants, and other bits and pieces. Home now and going to get a take away tonight as its too hot to cook. Temp got up to 25deg and is still 21 deg at the moment.

                  • Evening all.
Left Swansea this morning (a day early) in fog with more cloud forecast, we just gave up
Came back to sunny London with no veg or flower casualties
My new baby Arum Lily has put up a flower, so surprised.
I will let you all know how many flowers the big Arum lily plant gave us. I'm guessing 30 plus, but it's still sending them up.
Starting to harvest potato buckets today, Charlottes and quite good crops too
All seeds sown have now germinated, so we will have succession of carrot X 3, more watercress, spring onion and radish
Tomatoes starting to ripen and maybe another week before we are eating runners.
                    Onions drying out nicely
                    It's going well
                    Have a good evening

                    • NS, as soon as you left Wales, the sun came out Sorry you didn't see Gower at its best but glad that you had sunshine to welcome you home
I've spent the day picking and weeding and I'm about to spend the evening eating with a red wine cocktail or two. That's half and half wine and water Can't believe how my alcohol tolerance level has decreased over the years but I'm just as daft when I'm sober!
Enjoy your evenings and try not to think about work tomorrow!

                        • Good Morning, all! Hey, hey, hey .........Its Monday!

Early start again today - DH has to do some 'stuff' at work, so instead of languishing in bed til my 6 o'clock alarm went off, thought I'd get up have a cuppa and read a bit on here ........

So washing is on, cuppa has been drunk and Toby dog is watching my every move, willing me up and out that door .......!

The sky is a lovely pale blue and the sun seems to want to play - hope it does where ever you are today, too...!!!

Had my fan on all night, windows shut because next door but three decided to share their music with us
What a beautiful start to the day! Just looked out the window and saw a couple of trays of Charlottes left out to dry, must get them in
Work this morning, then garden duties this afternoon. Tomatoes need armpitting and harvesting
                            Have a lovely day everyone

Would you look at that..........it's still raining . Think I'm going to have to put the waterproofs on get those outside jobs done. Fruit needs picked, sunflowers need tieing up again, I won't bother you with the rest but you get the idea. Dead heading and weeding is not getting done in this weather .
                              Have a good day everyone

                              • It's grey here this morning but it is going to brighten up later. I've just got a little bit of work to do then I'm free all day. I'm hoping it's not quite as warm today - Lottie, I'm with you - too much heat means no work!

                                Coffe anyone?
