    • morning all,

so flemmin frustrating. I do sympathise if the injury is genuine mind.

      • Morning.

Dull and raining here. Again. 'Nuff said.

I'm glad some of you are getting some of the hot and happy stuff though. I hope you all have a great day.

          • Morning all, dull and smirry here again...where is that sun and hot temps? My toms desperately need some sun!!

House work and supermarket on the cards today could have that coffee first though Scarlet please if it's still going!

Had Harry dog at the vet on Friday, itchy skin and sore ear. This time I asked for the main man vet and guess what...Harry dog was as good as gold...no muzzle needed, no growlies or bared teeth this time and all this through examinations and antibiotic injections! Couldn't have liked the girl we saw last time!!

Well fingers crossed that we all get a share of the good weather...enjoy it if you have it and have a great day all.

            • Bit cooler this morning, only 30C in the shade, so was able to do some work in our communal garden. The local council had planted junipers which didn't look much, no colour, just green. I am in the process of uprooting the juniper bushes and laying down drip irrigation lines. Then I plan to plant geraniums and gazanias. When the project is completed I hope to post pictures.

              • Morning all. Well its roasting toasting here at the moment. Going to allotment tomorrow as I have my second interview today and don't want to end up injuring my self, like I nearly did last time.
Just trying to get myself motivated to start tidying the kids bedroom yet again.
                Have a good day everyone

                  Oh yes please!

I have a rant but I need a response so I'm doing it here!
My brother is going on hols on Thursday. He calls me Saturday to ask can I look after his dog and as an after thought adds that she is in season. I worry all day on how can I cope keeping her and my dog separate ive got a "long" house.....there are no rooms to lock her off. The kitchen is boiling with the Aga and all the doors are open as a walk through. how much frustration would this cause my boy Stan? Would he howl the place down?
Then to top it off he rings yesterday to say he has found a stud dog near me. Can I take her sun and wed to see the dog then OH says he wanted to take me out or away on my birthday. There's no way I could expect my boys to look after her.
Ive just called him to say sorry I can't do it. The last time his dog had pups I had her for the time before she gave birth until he picked the pups up 8 weeks later. Feeling a bit unhappy with it all. Younger brother says if he wants pups - he should stay home and sort it out himself.
Wondering if I did the right thing, or am I a meanie ?

                  • Scarlet, you did the right thing. He should take her to kennels and pay for all the ancillary services like taking her to the stud dog, etc. I wouldn't look after someone's dog in heat, brother or no brother. She's likely to try and do a runner and it will be monumentally stressful for your dog. He must know it was too much to ask. Well done for putting your foot down. Sounds like your younger brother has his head screwed on right.

                      • Not been funny Scarlet but what happens if something went wrong? All I can say is how old is your brother?

                        • Tell him to cancel his hols Scarlet...if you take on the responsibility of an animal it should come first no matter what!

                          • Definitely the right thing to do Scarlet - you have to look after number 1 (which includes stan and your boys). Its a lot to ask someone to take on, and if you don't feel comfortable you shouldn't feel obliged!

Afternoon all - lovely and sunny outside but I'm stuck at my desk. And will be stuck on a train for the rest of today and most of tomorrow. Typical - it was freeeeeezing on saturday!

                              • Scarlet, you and Stan are more important than your brother and his dog especially when she has "needs". I'm sure your brother will find somewhere else for her to stay.
                                You did right!!
