Mornin Flo'nall !
We had a nice bit of rain in the early hours. It was lovely hearing it .
This morning the air smells damp and sweet...and the sun is shining ...lovely start to the day.
I best let the hens out in a sec and check on the chick situation. For those of you not reading the rant thread....mom managed to stand on, and kill yesterday's chick very sad.
On checking the others there were no little taps or chirps, so we're not very hopeful.
Upside to yesterday however.....
I did a VC !!!
Yup...there I was in Lidl looking at a dozen large lavender plants...all priced at something over £3 each ....looking on the wrong side of wilting.
By chance there was an assistant pricing up new stock coming in......
So I bit the bullet and asked if these would be reduced to €1 each in the morning, and she said they would.
So I said , well , will you reduce them all to €1 each now if I take all 12?
Yessssss!
Not 10p each or a respectable VC discount price, but a fantastic offer never the less .
They'll be absolutely perfect to put in my tubs which the snugs have now munched their way through 2 sets of petunias...and then in the autumn I'll plant them out into the garden!
nice to get a bargain isn't it?....don't ask, don't get eh?

Morning ladies from a beautiful calm mild Nestland. Looking forward to mid morning as I had a late night, I was thinking the other day what I miss from my move from Leeds down South & the first thing that sprung to mind was Yorkshire Curd Tart. I'd already made the curds the night before & as it was only 1am decided to finish it off............It's been 3 years since I've had one as you can't get them for love nor money so will be like Christmad..........have a good one, I know I will.................sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”

Morning
I've never had a Yorkshire curd tart , I had to google it
Well it's grey and dull here looking about to rain but none on the forecast, will it or won't it hmmmm.
Couple of froglets got themselves stuck on deck so have been moved to safety nr pond area. These things are gonna be everywhere and they can't arf move. There was one on lawn last night as OH was cutting grass
Today I need to tidy house, mil has invited herself to stay this weekend and I don't want to be on with cleaning tomorrow. So that and then some planting out I hope , still have some cosmos, nicotiana, antirrhinum , chrysanths and calendulas to put somewhere
Maybe even get some seeds sown too.
Really like this calendula, I'm hoping to save seeds this yr.Attached FilesNorthern England.

Good morning,
Going to go to the allotment this morning. But waiting for the OH to get out of bed. Bought some nice flowers yesterday at the garden center, so need to take them down and plant them. And of course you can't leave the garden center without any seeds that was on sale
Just hope it doesn't rain today. Forecast says we are in for rain at 10am. Hope not as the sun is out.
Right best get a move on! Got to go my mums later as well to give her, her birthday card and present because I am working Sunday when it's her birthday.Carrie
