Well, Well, Well, Really sad about cat Hazel, obviously missed that somewhere, So my heart goes out to you, same as chick Nico's!
Thanks, Deano. Domino cat was an old boy who had had a great life, so although he is greatly missed, we can't say that we've been hard done by. The house is benefiting from the Mother of All Spring Cleans before another cat(s) move in .

I must stop looking at the Cats Protection website, though - I'd have 'em all in flash and turn into the mad cat woman.

I don't think that you've missed much, but that's just my view.

      • Good evening Folks, it has been a busy day from me today, a quick shopping then took grandsons to a wind farm, it has 215 windmills on it, spread over an area greater than the size of Glasgow (the dogs must be exhausted rounding them up at night) while there I let my wife buy me a coffee and a scone, we had the coffee at the cafeteria that's there, it looks it ever the wind farm, but was a bit disappointed, as there was to much low cloud to see them so that I could have a good moan about them spoiling the landscape no matter I took the boy's for a long walk as there are lots of paths all over the place, this was to tire them out, we had several wee showers but was most enjoyable, when we got home I let them wash the car while I inspected the inside of my eye lids. We are now up at their house, they are running about and I feel I need to check the eye lids again Well I wish you all a good night, have a good weekend, I think I will spend the weekend in bed if OH will let me, or if she will join me. Goodnight

        • Evenin' folks

Just had a last mooch/water/tie-in of wayward growth/pep-talk to all in GH and veggie patch .....So why is it, that runners have miraculously appeared since yesterday and dwarf French beans are winking at me cheerily where none were before - and there's a cluster of glossy green courgettes begging to be picked .......??
Cornflowers have opened up in competition with the nasturtiums, borage is full of purple flowers......
.................they have all been waiting for this weekend to put in an appearance..!!!

Why am I feeling a tinge of sadness at leaving all my lovelies .........?
It's like leaving your child on his first day at school ..........(((gulp)))........

I've told them they've to behave themselves for lovely old neighbour, who, bless him is going to come around every day to water if needed.....

What a saddo..!!! Or do other folks feel like this .............?

          Night!

          • Oh Rary, you lead a very active life, i know how you feel.
My life used to be as busy as yours but thankfully my grandkids are now 10, 12, 13 and 25 so at least they are capable of looking after themselves, more or less.
Eldest is working, trying to stop 13 year old from gowing up too quick and the 10 and 12 never stop compeating with each other.
Ours are on holiday until September 1st. And have been off since last day of June.
I now only have them one day a week so look forward to that now.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

              • Power of love, gawd my dad was always playing that. Il have to remind family members

Oh trip what a time you've had too.
Had a funny experience myself tonight, OH was working late so I took dog alone (in car) ..we nipped to shop for milk n eggs as was raining (in the hope it had stopped returning to forest for walk which it had).
Anyway one of walks we go in is in a sharp corner , we usually cut across corner to park by forest gate, tonight I thought ..I think I should to drive round the corner to turn in later ...as I turned corner a car whizzed by. If I'd turned it would've ploughed into me, or rather( the dog) .
Dunno why I chose to do that.

Rainy day , farmers are cutting grass like mad...still cutting and collecting zzzz, mad cutting when wet but there you go.
Watched a film wild bill/mad bill? Simple but enjoyed it.

                  Evening, BB.

Nice selection there - I'm guessing that you know the answer to the pub question 'name three artistes who had hits with the same name in the same year'.

I'll take your last suggestion as a starting point. Just a mo.....

                  • Well, I'm torn between Natalie Imbruglio (geggit?) and Shakira - I have to go for the latter (but I might be lost to the lovely Columbian for the duration - let's see)

                      • PS a decade and more on, how does Holly Valance make a living? Can't see her turning up at a B&Q interview for counter staff, somehow, yet fleeting fame must leave you needing to earn a wage somewhere.

                        • On the subject of fleeting fame, didn't someone ask about Girls Aloud the other day?

Don't get me wrong, I think this was jolly catchy, but where are the girls now, just five years on?

On the same note, not every band from my yoof can be earning a living on 'best of' tours?

                            • Right - *ahem - notwithstanding my utter lack of (reasonably) contemporary culture, I'll end up with something more in my (80's dinosaur) comfort zone...

er - mining this seem might be a mistake - we could be here (literally) night.

Or until the cooking apple and orange juice wine runs out. Or it gets light. Both options not great for Deep Clean activity in the morning. Hmm..

                              • Y'see I know that was a mistake! I could tap me feet all night long with the Thompson Twins...

                                .

But we are back again to how do these lovely peeps earn a living 33 years later.

                                Ach.
