Maybe we should have a specially dedicated tunes thread somewhere? Looks like it would be popular.

I did think of starting .. The Ball of String .. thread, but didn't want to seem 'elitest', it's just a bit of Friday night fun that Hazel & I have been doing on & off for ages.
However, I do sometimes wonder if all our links might be 'a pain' to members with slow internet connections &/or use mobile devices ? If there is a concensus for a seperate thread rather than leaving it in general chat, no prob's it will be done.

I'm just the best! I adore ironing. I always do it to the best of my ability. There's no crease like a sharp crease in my book!

Me and the kids have ironing evenings where we all bond over our shared ironing. I often feel sad once we've finished and I have nothing left to iron.

The simplest thing might be to just post a link to the vid rather than embed it. Nice and fast to load unless you want to actually watch the vid. Like this:

Excellent! I haven't ironed anything in... ooh, years. No need to here either, thank goodness.

Anyway, hot but not too hot so far today. Let the chickens out a little while ago so they could go on the rampage. A bit later than usual and they were charging at the door as soon as they heard me coming. Unfortunately, they have taken to dust bathing in the paths round the back of the toms and by the aubergines, exposing the roots. A couple of the tom plants are suffering because of it. Still, the chickens are a popular feature. When the vet came round a couple of weeks back to give the dogs their annual rabies jabs, the chickens came and joined us and perched on the back of a couple of chairs. He'd never seen anything like it, as he's used to seeing them in chicken farms. I think it was the first time he'd ever seen properly free-range chickens. He commented on how "felices" (happy) they were.

No need if we use Martin's idea, hyperlinks load same as text so it's all good

Hmm. I'm not so keen - mainly as the visual front of the vid link (before you click in it) instantly puts you back where you where at the time, or brings the song to mind far more that the words of the artist/title combo does; and having the vid link within the thread means you have it front of you and don't have to open another tab/window.

Are the links slowing people down these days? I read in the paper about people having a dreadful internet service but it that actually the case here that the thread is slower than others (either because of the links, or because it has more than 3660 posts in it at this point)?

But if Martin's work around gets the thumbs up, I'll have to live with it.

I've no idea what the vids do for people on ipads etc but loading pages with lots of vids does seem to take longer on a laptop than when its just chat. Its harder to skim down the page reading the posts.
I think music threads work better in a separate thread where, if one is in the mood to listen, you can do so.

No! As no effect on iPad users whatsoever, But been a long time since I used a laptop, That's a lie, use one everyday, but for work purposes only, so really can't comment on if it does get in the way or not
