    • Morning all...

Busy day yesterday, but a lot of progress made on grass and hedge cutting...Finished off with 5 year old beating me at soccer as usual, treats for kids and movie night ...

Going to aim to have a more relaxing day today commencing with tea in bed
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

        • Good morning all. Lovely sunny morning here and its our bank holiday weekend. Lots of funny festival and street stuff going on in the city today, so might pop in later. Have a good day all.

If he moves in negotiate with his mother, about how much you are willing let this cost you
I already pay for most of his clothes and all of his shoes and most of his laptops, ipads, mobiles and - he is round here every day at least twice a day 'walking their dog' with their cat following behind - their old cat is a permanent resident - (she left them when he was just over 1 year old) - He always has something to eat and drink. He stays here whenever his parents and siblings go anywhere. I run him to and from school every day unless I am away somewhere which doesn't happen very often - fortunately the school is near the allotment so it gives me an early start and a reasonably long day on the plot if I want it or need it. I also run him to all his chess matches which fortunately he usually wins. He probably eats here a couple of days a week. He spent the first year of his life lying in my arms for most of the day as they came south to live with us after he was born and I took a year off after having been back 3 years as a consultant after taking early retiral. As he eats just about anything I suspect the costs would be minimal.

His mum has just arrived at the door with 3 black bags of his clothes - she says the other two want to come and stay here as well so she will be back shortly with the removal van - Nicos - what time is the plane to the South of France - my cousin says she'll put me up until I find a place of my own.

All of the para immediately above is a figment of my imagination but I can see it happening in a couple of years time.

rary - I would have missed your post if I hadn't seen Hazel's response - I too miss the hillwalking - I think now I should never have stopped - there is nothing compares to standing on top of a mountain and looking down on a vast expanse of green valley with either a river running through it or a lovely sparkling loch nestling in the middle just waiting for you to come down for a dip after the exertion or waking up beside one after a 20 mile hike, although I preferred walking in winter when the cold resulted in the snow being crisp so that your boots only sunk an inch into the top and when you took photos into the sun the snow/ice looked black or sometimes rutted like the moon's surface might appear. ah those were the days. I'll look out some more photos when I find the time.

Hazel, I never had you down as a 'glam chick', glam was a great time to be young(ish ) silly lyrics, silly clothes (with even more silly stacked footwear, yep I joined in 2"soles with 4" heels), fast motorbikes & cheap fuel, what was there not to like

I only ever brought one Queen single, played it to death while reading Lord of the Rings, crank the volume up ...

                  • BB, that was the single that started my love affair with Queen.
This was a little before hubby and I met, but I can remember it being played over and over on the jukebox
                    Thanks for that little memory

                    • Afternoon all Been busy day so far. Been digging over one of the front border and planted lots of flowers. Not sure what they will look like as these were grown from seed and then the leaves got a bit damaged with the heatwave. But fingers crossed they will pick up now they're planted out.

Still hot half a border to fill but will have to leave it now as cream crackered. Tomorrow is supposed to rain all day and Tues. Luckily is hubbys bday tomorrow and we are out for a meal so glad the weather is bad since will be indoors anyway.

Hope everyone enjoys a nice Sunday
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

                      • Afternoon all. Have had a busy few days. My sister visited yesterday which was nice. She got me a Radley purse called Bees Knees for my birthday as well as a couple of other bits that I haven't opened yet. I admit I have squeezed and shaken them but still haven't got a clue what she has got me.
Then today I have been at a party with Will and Han. They really enjoyed it. One of the moms has finally persuaded me to join facebook. So I have one friend on it and that's her
                        Have a good evening everyone

                            • Got the GG with us today and found out she is staying two nights, not one. Happy days, fidgety nights lol
Cooked a rather large leg of pork for dinner, yellow stickered bought a while ago, had it with all home grown veg. She woofed it down.
Will she still feel the same in two days time, cause we will be eating pork for lunch and dinner on both of the days, it's that big.
Garden all watered, crops and flowers all well
See you all in the morning

                              • Evening all! I'm away from home for a few days - actually I'm in my other home which I'm hoping to sell. One little tip for anyone who thinks you can leave a garden untended for 6 months - you can't. The brambles have taken over the paths, bindweed has dragged my little apple tree in a horizontal position, blocking the steps and grass is seeding everywhere. I haven't managed to reach the top of the garden yet, its so overgrown!
I have tomorrow to make it look presentable for the estate agent on Tuesday and that includes cleaning the house. Wish me luck and a dry day!
Hope you're all OK - I'm too busy to read back..............Byeeeeeeeeee
