Morning girls from a drizzly but mild Nestland, guess it'll be a day of house chores, which isn't bad news as I'm expecting my peeler to be delivered. Have a good one especially those celebrating birthdays.

I'm just up. I had a horrible horrible very intense dream last night about my daughter going missing, she was only maybe 4 or 5 in the dream. I woke up feeling awful and I cant shake it even although I know it was only a dream and I've hugged her at least a dozen times in the last 5 minutes!
I'm off to have tea.
Edit: I've been up for an hour and I still feel uneasy. What's worse is that my daughter's friend has just texted her in a state to say she too had a dream about her last night where she died in a car crash. How weird is that.
She's going out today with friends and I'm really struggling to keep quiet and not say 'you're not going'.Last edited by gardening_gal; 01-08-2016, 10:01 AM.

Morning All - its raining, that very wet Welsh rain that comes in off the Atlantic and coats everything with.............wet stuff Unless it clears and dries up this morning my garden will remain a paradise waiting to be awaken from its slumbers (I'm practising estate agent speak).
Never mind, I've been sweeping the ceilings. Cobwebs are amazing - the way the filaments stretch out, then clump up on the brush "Perfect home for a nature lover - its one big Bug Hotel".
Right, I'm orf, play nice!

As a result I decided discretion was the better part of valour and went straight off the mountain to the car below. When I was on Ben Challum, there was a group of men who were doing the Boots over Scotland challenge, as the day previous had been a scorcher they had dressed for the same, it was actually quite chilly, but they warmed the air with some, colourful!!! language, as for photos my walking friend and I rarely took a camera, as we has dropped or damaged several over the years previously, rain doing most of the damage, now when I have a waterproof camera I dont do any walkingit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Good evening Folks, it has been warm humid day here, no children today, so got some gardening work done, I have trimmed some bushes lifted some potatoes and removed eight cauliflower plants, they had been growing for several months now standing about three feet tall but no sign of any heart forming so decided to remove them, then shredded every thing, the area where the onions had been has now been cleaned up weeds removed (there was just one or two) 6X and rock dust hoed in, I then soaked the soil and covered it with cardboard, which I then soaked also that is now covered with the shreddings and once I have some transplants ready I will use a bulb planter to punch holes through and transplant, although I think I will need to be using fleece to protect them from the cold. I have now stopped composting the material from the garden, as over the past few months I have been putting the shredded material and grass cuttings, ( if you have some large soft material for composting scatter it over the grass and run the lawnmower over it, it will shred it just fine) around my flower beds the soil is nice and friable,(I read that word in a magazine and had to use it) and less bother with weeds, slugs and snails, so now trying it with the veg. Well I shall wish you all a good night, hope the weather is good for you tomorrow, if its not good for you I hope its good for me. Goodnightit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

2nd time was on Carn a'Choire Bhoidheach near Lochnagar - beautiful morning - sat down for lunch and noticed dark clouds gathering about 20 miles away - packed up took a compass course and started walking off the mountain - within a very short time was in total white out conditions and visibility was almost nil - by good fortune compass course was spot on and eventually white out was replaced with bright sunshine when we were just above Loch Callater.
Always took loads of photos - had got a camera for my long service award and made good use of but how I wish it had been digitalEndeavour to have lived, so that when you die, even the undertaker will be sorry - Puddinghead Wilson's Diary
