  • A worry from ya mind Nicos I imagine!

Have stuck my boot in firmly! No more "Pets" for me! Can't do with the "Heartache" anymore if things go wayward!

All the very best to SP n CG! We're looking out for you ya know!

VC, Ignore the estate agent! The fact it it is titled a "Cottage" and in Welsh Wales just does it for me!

Another bad day at "The Office" But the weekend ever encrouching!

Oh! Long handled bulb planters, picked one up from work a few years back, Josheph n Bentley too! I adore thier tools! "Proper Quality" and it was free!

Not wanting to gloat! But yeah, they are a serious peice of kit to have in your armoury!

    • Great news about Hibou - pets are such a worry aren't they.

Really stormy out there. Lost some tomatoes when some of my pots fell over in the wind Just hope it dies down soon - I shall be really annoyed if my runner beans are damaged.

Anyway, time to destress with cuppa coffee. Found out some old lettuce seeds so might try growing those on the windowsill as microgreens.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

      • Evening all. Just trying to do a bit of catching up.
Hope your dad is okay CG and the funeral went well SP.
What a rude estate agents VC. The ones round here use the phrase 'Needs cosmetic attention' or a 'nature friendly garden' those mere phrases add a couple of thousands to the asking price.
Glad Hibou has turned up Nicos.
Was at work again today and I am back in again tomorrow. Quite tired again even after a few hours.
        Have a good evening everyone

I use a bit of 2in. pipe when planting potatoes, just push it into the soil give it a twist and lift, it comes out with a plug of soil, just drop a potato in the hole, replace the plug, push the soil plug back out with an old spade shaft.

            • Good evening Folks, a wet day here today, again busy at my daughters, the carpet fitter was due some time in the morning, arrived at 1245, his idea of morning and mine are different, but he did do a good job, then hawkeye spotted a water leak in the toilet, so had to check that, found what was causing the leak, so had to go to bq for seals, got everything ready when she decides I should take her and the younger grandchildren to our house where she could get the tea ready, oh and before you go back to daughters could you lift some potatoes, when I brought the potatoes in with water running off me she asked, is it still raining, I think she just tries to wind me up, finally got back to do the repair, have you ever noticed how in toilets, the space for working with water pipes is rather confined, and I am not built for small spaces, finally got it sorted, the cause of the problem was that the toilet water cistern had never been screwed to the wall and the movement of the cistern over time had worn the seals. well I wish you all a good night, and for those working tomorrow is an other day closer to the weekend, and during the school holidays I am looking forward to that also. Goodnight

Funny old day - weatherwise. Sun shines and by the time I've got to the end of the garden its chucking it down - I must be a slow walker!
Don't seem to have done much but not much knew there.
SP Hope you're home now and being looked after
Nicos, glad to hear the wanderer has returned. Give her a smooth from me.

                      • so happy Hibou has turned up for you Nicos..!

This very windy weather is playing havoc in the garden...... I've put extra stakes in for the poor old sunflowers, who are shaking their heads in dismay ...

I've had to dash out to back garden resplendent in pink dressing gown and purple slippers ~ to rescue the ever-suffering runner beans: the frame (again!!) was lurching menacingly into my sweetcorn bed - ....aaaarrrggh It's summer! Just stop it now!

Dread to think what damage will be awaiting me when I wake up tomorrow ....

                        And on that note: 'night!

                          • Good morning, nobody about this morning? dry just now but not to promising looking very overcast, so don't know what we will do today with the boy's, I would like to take them to the sea shore, where they could do a bit of net fishing in the rock pools, will have to wait and see what the weather dose. Well have a good day and enjoy it what ever the weather, see you later

                              Very pleased hibou returned safely.
I'm home. The house is a disaster area, The garden isn't much better and the veggie garden is in need of a miracle! Onions and beetroot all ready for harvest. Lots of monster courgettes, footballs instead of round courgettes ( I told him to pick things!!!! ), whole crop of spinach, chard and most of the lettuce all bolted. And I can no longer keep the polytunnle door open because I have a blackbird that has discovered they like tomatoes!!
                              Have a good day everyone.
