Good Morning all!!
Well on early inspection of back garden this morning after the very searching wind ~ pleased to report that everything still intact and upright...!!!
I think I'm going to try my hand at making some beetroot chutney with the beetroot that I picked yesterday (hope it'll be ok as it had bolted....) - I've got some smaller ones that are still in the ground I can use too...
Just waiting for washing machine to finish then hopefully this sun will hang around with the breeze to do their job..!
Well, have a good day all - and Small Pumpkin, you'll soon get things back in order. But, why oh why don't OH's listen to instructions...? Dread to think what state my garden/GH/veggies would be in if I left my DH to it.............~~~ Gardening is medicine that does not need
a prescription ... And with no limit on dosage.

Morning all. I was up early this morning but we took a trip to the garden centre so only just got back. Picked up some very nice lavender hand cream which looked very posh for 50p - think we can manage that
Resisted the cut price plants but picked up some more seeds in the sale and some ones I'd never heard of called Asparagus Peas - so will see what they are like next year.
Very windy still, hope it dies down soon as don't want any more plants falling over. Better get on with some work now.
Have a nice day everyoneLOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

Afternoon all - had to run away this morning in the middle of posting as I received a call the Council were up snooping about the allotment - no problems they were just making plot inspections for a new Best Plot Competition they have been organising. When Chairman advised he was not aware they were coming they told him they had not intended he should When I spoke to them I told them we would have liked to offer them tea/coffee but unfortunately we were not aware they were coming so had nothing in.Endeavour to have lived, so that when you die, even the undertaker will be sorry - Puddinghead Wilson's Diary

Afternoon All I'm really enjoying my time off work - been in the garden every day and you can really tell - well, I can anyway! I've also gone from pale and tired-looking to tanned and not-so-tired-looking Had a letter to say I should claim my State Pension, so I suppose I'm old as well! I intend to continue working for as long as I can, so the bonus will be that I will not have to pay NI will I? Weather's a bit mixed today, sunshine and showers and the wind is still strong, it has been all week. Anyway, off to sow the spring onions and land cress that arrived today with the September mag. See you later.

Just want to add that although I'm having a really relaxing break - it feels really strange not to be needed. That probably sounds weird, but I have always been "on call" for babysitting, dog sitting, helping financially or emotionally, but my children all now seem to be financially and emotionally stable and the eldest of my grandchildren look after the younger ones when their parents aren't there. I can't say this to anyone close to me, but I feel a bit lost
I shouldn't be moaning should I? I should be grateful that they're all healthy and happy and I am really. It's just another chapter of my life starting I suppose.

Flo...Just make sure you regularly touch base with each of them.
With their hectic lives , it's easy for them to be distracted away from you....you are, and will be very much needed- you are clearly a lovely person and they must already know that"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

FF your children may not need financial, support, but we all need emotional support, we have our oldest grandchild staying with us just now, and even though she is not asking about anything we can see she is so relaxed in our company, even though there is a slight difference in age groups So no matter how it may look, you will always be needed, enjoy the bit of freedom you are having.it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

good evening Folks, the rain threatened once or twice this morning, but by two it was pleasant, did not manage to get to the shore, so thats a thing for next week, we did have a game of football, I am now ready for bed, I don't have their energy or their speed I do have the weight where I can shove them off the ball, but they cant budge me. I will have to go, my eyes are going together so I am for off to bed, keep well, and try and make someone happy tomorrow, you will enjoy it even if you are shattered doing it, the kids will sleep well tonight, I will pass out. Goodnightit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
