Mornin n'all n'all
CG....hope they get things sorted for your father soon.
Is he a 'wanderer'?
I'm only asking as when MIL was in the stroke unit there was a lady who 'wandered' and she had a special alarm attached to her . As she reached the limit of a cord, a contact was broken and an alarm set off.
All very useful yo know, but the staff were too busy elsewhere to get her to sit down again.
She was leaning on the bedside trolley ( with wheels ) to support her whilst she walked!
And do...back to today....Tis nearly weekend folks!
Looks like we're in for a run of nice weather, so hopefully we can get some wood cut and split this week and garage cleared with ought getting sopping wet!
Domestic chores today for me.
What are the rest of you up to?"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Morning ladies, my Washings out too
Another shift at the charity shop beckons. Flo, I thoroughly recommend this volunteering malarkey. It's saved my sanity I'm sure. I have made 3 new besties and half a dozen others that socialise with us.
Been sorting through the onions, more than half have gone soft, so they got thrown out. Not growing onions again, it took me 3 seasons to get usable ones.
Proved that we can, so job done.
Have a lovely day everyone, got to runNannys make memories

Maybe take 2 youngest grandkids to Millport tomorrow as they were asking for a train trip yesterday - otherwise the allotment beckons with planning for the show a week Sunday :-)Endeavour to have lived, so that when you die, even the undertaker will be sorry - Puddinghead Wilson's Diary

Gosh, CG. Sorry to hear you're having such difficulties. My dad has been in hospital for a couple of weeks and is now at home. He had a fall when I was not two feet away but looking the other way. But I have to say, the care he has had on the NHS has been unbelievably good.
Going home Saturday loaded up with all sorts of goodies, most of them spices (no crumpets, Nicos). Looks like I'll be coming back again soon, though.
Looking forward to home-grown veg, especially proper toms and just-picked French beans. One of my mum's neighbours gave her some home-grown runner beans. You can definitely taste the difference.

So sorry CG that your dad is not getting the right care in hospital. We make sure that people who are high risk of falls has someone with them 24/7 to prevent falls. I know that is what we do in our hospital. And as for drinks we make sure they always have a drink if not warm but them a jug of water on there table so that they can have a drink.
Good morning,
Off to the allotment later this afternoon, got to wait in for shopping to be delivered. Sorry not been on here for a while. Been really busy with working. Going to catch up on what I have missed on here.
Have a good day.Carrie

With their hectic lives , it's easy for them to be distracted away from you....you are, and will be very much needed- you are clearly a lovely person and they must already know thatOriginally posted by rary View PostFF your children may not need financial, support, but we all need emotional support, we have our oldest grandchild staying with us just now, and even though she is not asking about anything we can see she is so relaxed in our company, even though there is a slight difference in age groups So no matter how it may look, you will always be needed, enjoy the bit of freedom you are having.Originally posted by Sheneval View PostFlo - there are a whole of hobbies out there just waiting for you - I play chess - research Family History - do the allotment - watch football and used to walk up Mountains. Not sure I could still do the latter, certainly not the tricky stuff, but there are countless quality low level walks out there if I wished to join a rambling club. I also played badminton for a few years at lunchtime. I also use social media for politics which can be frustrating so perhaps better avoided. The main thing is to find something you love doing that keeps you moving and the brain active. :-) Also means you will make new friends.Originally posted by Containergardener View PostI'm with Shen.
I dunno how old they are but we go "being Independent " but also think you may want some space , a break from us.
I know different nowOriginally posted by Bren In Pots View PostFlo it just means that you've bought up your family well and now they're a credit to you and Mr F.

CG - complain to the Ward Manager and keep on complaining. Not all NHS Nurses are Angels I'm afraid, unless they are truly dedicated they sometimes need reminding who needs them. Sorry to sound so blunt, but I've seen it - sometimes the geriatric wards are the most neglected.Granny on the Game in Sheffield
