Evening peeps!
I'm only stopping up as long as this glass of cooking-apple-and-orange lasts me (famous last words!) as it's been a mad week here.
Quite glad I wasn't on for a few days when I read back and saw Hibou had gone walkabouts - it would have really worried me! Such a relief that she's back safe and well - that kitty cat has used more than her nine lives already . Cuddles from me to her, Nicos (and a (((HUG))) for you too!).

That's a varied selection you've come up with there, BB - but surely on this opening night of the Olympics there has to be a sports theme (or at the very least a 2012-throwback theme?).
No matter how un-sports-fan-orientated I think I am (tae-kwando anyone? Dressage? Finn Class Sailing?), I can't help but be behind anyone who - apart from being talented at something to start with - puts themselves through the mill, persevering to try to be the Best In The World at whatever it is they do - and if they succeed, what a feeling that must be!
I'll be cheering on all of team GB; but will appreciate the efforts and sacrifices made by every single athlete (and their families) who have got to this point.

And after running, we have jumping - be it high (Mr Grabarz) or long (Mr Rutherford)..
seems we have choice here...
and something a bit disturbing from rap group Sugar Hill Gang channelling their inner American Indian heritage ...
It seems that the heritage now includes a great number of pies........

And we need to include throwing (yes, I know that I'm missing a great swathe including all 'fighting' disciplines, racket sports (and stuff with a stick), water stuff, stuff on two wheels, stuff on four legs, stuff with a weapon; and any combination thereof ..........
But this one nicely ties in 'throw' and was a theme for lots of the London 2012 coverage

Right - I've been sidetracked by an extraordinary bunch of peeps.
The summary is here -
So for all the sleep I don't want to miss, there will be moments I will be proud to have witnessed - the country has an investment in these Olympians and Paralympians; is it worth it?
I think so - this retrospective is worth sitting down to watch with a cup of tea. Only the stoniest of hearts will not be moved.
I can't top that - 'night all.

Jeez Hazel, you was up late
Now I'm up early.
Couldn't sleep, so have made a cuppa and catching up on last nights shenanigans on here.
Thought I'd put the Breadmaker on early, but hubby hadn't washed the paddle properly, so that's having a soak before a scrub. No wonder it's been sticking.
Hopefully will go back to bed shortly.
Have a great dayNannys make memories
