What's the biggest pointer of an age generation difference? Sense of humour. Groans and raised eyes v's genuine amusement at simple things.
It's cold and wet here today. I think our temperatures have been gradually dropping recently and I suspect this will be the norm from here on in.
Daughter is off to Edinburgh with her Aunt today, they are going to wander round the museums and mingle with the Fringe folks so I shall have a day to myself. Guess where I'm going? Yip, the dump. Again.
I need to cut the lawns today...nope not the grass, cos that's not grown, but we have clumps of weeds which must be a foot high now and they need topping before they flower.
Have a great day peeps whatever you get up to

Morning again, went back to bed for a couple of hours.
Woke up to the lovely smell of bread baking mmmm
Had porridge and more tea outside and picked the remaining radishes and some carrots for tonight's tea.
All whilst breakfast was cooling.
Have to keep my hands off the bread till lunchtime. I promised my afternoon boss that I would bring sandwiches in for us.
Got so many tomatoes and runners to pick, my next job

morning from me n all . my grass cut as also my elderly neighbour across the road. Poor soul has cancer and isn't able to do it herself anymore. Takes all of 10 mins with my big mower so no big deal .
Out to new house shortly. Carpets getting laid on the 16th so move getting closer. Our 6 - 8 weeks was our original timescale but that has run over by the same amount of time. Overrun due to delays with workmen which made things really frustrating but hey ho that's life. Emptied loft at existing home yesterday. Boy that was hot but it's done. Serious packing now. Only carpets curtains and blinds to finish things off and these are all bought and paid for.
Just had a call from youngest child (32) he's in hospital with quinsy. I do wish they'd take his tonsils out as this is the 3rd time it's hospitalised him.
Given up trying to clear my garden myself and have rung someone recommended to me to help me. He's going to have a look on Tuesday. Maybe I'll be able to grow things again. I'll have a new neighbour soon. He's an old friend and I'm really hoping he'll want the big bully of an overgrown schumac that's taken over his garden and mine removed.

Afternoon all - lovely to hear from you AP Sounds like your new home is coming on well now - you'll soon be in it and all sorted.
Hope your son gets better soon, Janie. Never heard of quinsy but it sounds horrible.
Really enjoying a sit down now. Got the last of my flower seedlings in the border this morning. Lots of bright coloured calendulas which should have been planted out weeks ago but only just got round to it. Veg takes precedence though. Hopefully we will have a warm autumn and they will still do well.
Pleased to see some red buds forming on second lot of runner bean plants.
Planted out some carrot seedlings as well. One lot under mesh in the raised bed and one lot in a hanging basket with no mesh. Will see if either beat the carrot fly
Enjoying coffee then back to work. Have a lovely day all.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.
