  • Morning all,

    Bright and sunny here today....
Lets hope it stays that way until I am home from work..then I can get some garden stuff done...
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

    • Morning everyone Nervous time GG - hope your daughter is happy with her results. If not, just remind her that exams are not the be all and end all. I had to retake my maths GCSE and some a-levels with numerous extra study and evening classes in order to get my dream of going to uni. I started later than most other kids but I worked my butt off to get there and it was worth it in the end

Chilly start to the day. I went out and came straight back in - 12 degrees is a little too cold first thing in the morning!

      Strong coffee awaits
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

      • Good morning from sunshiny here.
A day in the garden, maybe, doing some weeding and planting out of some of the cheapo plants that have been receiving tlc. Sadly, a lot of the freebie roses didn't make it but the good news is the compost and pots they were in have been salvaged

I read this today and immediately thought of rary!

The Mrs says I'm tight!, so to prove her wrong we went out for tea & biscuits!
It was quite exciting as she's never given blood before.

Good luck with the results Miss gg.
        Have a glorious day everyone

No Shen its not an obsession the question was in referance to an obsevation passed on to Jay three or four weeks ago, and I wanted to know if I was correct or not, and as I will be in Troon later today I may take up that offer

          • Had a lovely afternoon yesterday with some very old friends. One of them is an extremely knowledgeable biologist. Am feeling a bit better about my veg patch after our conversations. He reckons it will be another two years or so before our land recovers from the flooding last year. So patience is the order of the day, rather than thinking I am doing something wrong. Remedial measures include adding lots more muck and that's achievable.

So am feeling a lot more positive.

That hurt, why only yesterday when walking passed a bakers shop my wife commented on the lovely smell coming from it, but as she had an appointment we couldnt stop, but when she was finished, I took her back up to the bakers even though it was going out of our way, so that she could enjoy the smell again

                • Absolutely correct rary...sons bank balance is the same as when he went, even though he invited us to come with him!!!

Morning everyone, quite dull this morning, not sure of the temperature as I haven't been out yet. I doubt I'm going to get any tomatoes this year. Not even green ones, I have the grand total of 4 little green tomatoes out of about 14 plants!!

Off to grab a cuppa before I decide what to do today...kettles on if anyone wants one.

Nicos - What is ironing?? Do you use a thing called an 'iron'
If so that is a 4 letter word - never use them

Morning all - need to start tidying up the allotment for the show at the weekend - despite doing a small amount of weeding almost every trip to show them they are not welcome they come back to visit time and time again.

                            • I have had a fantastic day. OH brought tea in bed with a pressie of a thermometer to go with my mini greenhouse he got me. Then son came over and gave me a new gadget 'Parrot Flower Power' ( has anyone got it or heard about it) so lots of learning and new app!! Got flowers and daughter took me out for lunch. Then Pilates and then more people came over with pressies and flowers. Just off to see Jason Bourne at the flicks. What a lovely day.
