  • Morning all, thinking of you this weekend SP, as Nicos said you are a wonderful person to have taken care of your grandparents the way you have and now fulfilling their last wish...big hugs. xx

It's yet another dull wet day here, when is it going to stop?! It was actually quite dark this morning, didn't really believe it was time to get up!

Not sure what's on the cards today but it will definitely be something indoors, the garden is like a quagmire. On the upside, although I have next to no tomatoes, I have found some little cucs growing away in the blowaway. Nice surprise!

Have a great day all and safe trip SP!

    • Morning all... thinking of you SP and anyone else who needs it.

Unfortunately for us today's house move has been postponed so we don't really know what to do with ourselves. Doubly unfortunately our broadband will be cut off anytime so I'm getting my vine fix while I can!

The sun is trying to shine through so maybe it will turn out to be a better day than it currently is

            • Morning all - another wet day forecast - will take the 2 youngest grandsons on a train trip to Glasgow this morning just to get them out of their mother's hair Managed to get to the allotment yesterday to collect my biggest tomato yet and another courgette but had to shelter in the poly for 10-15 mins as rain was never far away Eldest grandson came round to spend most of the day as parents and siblings had gone to see the Kelpies and Falkirk wheel

              • Now there's a sight Shen, the Kelpies are absolutely stunning! The Falkirk Wheel is a feat of engineering and absolutely wonderful. Anyone visiting the area...they are both worthy of a visit.

                • Finished off bringing water up from the well this morning. Then headed into town to see the doctor (nothing serious). Heard Mr Snoop telling a local we had half a metre of water in the well. Eek! I didn't know it was getting that low. It does replenish when we've taken some out, but even so, that's pretty low.

Now back home and about to make coffee while pondering the weekend's events. Saturday we've got friends coming. I'm thinking of doing a lot of mezze and then a Persian biryani. Have never made any of these dishes, so I could be overreaching a bit! Sunday the town fiestas start, so that will be a lark.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. I'll be thinking of you SP. Not a nice thing to have to do, but I'm sure you've got plenty of things to celebrate about their lives. And I bet they felt the same is true about you.

                      • yes Jay both worth seeing, the first time I saw the wheel was after a twenty mile cycle along the tow path, which was fine, but I had an other twenty mile return journey, the reason for doing it, my son wanted to do some cycling before getting married, among other cycle trips galloway hills, part of West Highland Way was the Crinnin cannal, that I realy did enjoy a sunny day and fantastic views, and ofcourse at the wedding I was knackered
