Good grief Shen.....can't get over the colour and lushness of your grass!
Our 'lawn' is so dry it's like walking across a field of cornflakes...both colour and sound!

Nice to see the work progressing too!
        Nicos,

Many years back when I was in regular touch with a Family History friend in Sydney, Australia she used to make similar comments regarding the grass but there is a price to be paid - it's called rain - last winter was the wettest I can remember for a long time - to make the comparison when I first got my plot on 24 Nov. a few years back I was up at the allotment for all but 7 days of the next 7 weeks. Over the same period last winter I was up at the allotment for 7 days out of the same 7 weeks.

I love walking in what I would call the scrubland in the South of France - spent many happy holidays there - the last half dozen or so at Canet Plage, previously at Argeles Sur Mer, Puget and Frejus near where my aunt and uncle retired to Domain Des Canabiere, Le Muy, Var My cousin still has the place and her son and his wife are living there now while she is teaching in Marseille.

It was a pleasure to be able to sit outside for a meal taken over 5 hours on the side of the hill where they have their plot of land.

Two of my allotment friends are 'doers' - if a job has to be done it must be done 'Right Now - bit like a wife really - we have achieved many improvements and saved a small fortune over the last few years because of this attitude. I like to proceed at a much more leisurely pace, as at work there were teams of Architects and Engineers who had a multitude of Contractors behind them and all I had to do was provide the specification for the job to be done and sign off the work for financial payment plus of course attending regular meeting to see all was going well and travelling to every rail station in the country whilst doing so thus improving my knowledge of the layout of the country at the same time. Coupled with my Munro Bagging/Hill Walking I must have been nearly everywhere in Scotland :-)

            • Good morning all. Its a bit cooler here this morning, the temp is only 15deg.. Well, my weekend is more or less spoken for as my daughter and hubby are celebrating 23 years of mrriage and are gone away for a long weekend leaving me in charge of my two grandkids. Although grandson is grown up and is well able to care for himself I will have him in for dinner every evening.
Grandaughter is only 12 and into a new school so she will need me there to do up her long hair, provide packed lunches and be chauffer if it rains. She will also stay overnight Friday and Saturday, so not much spare time for the garden this weekend.

                    • Well I had an interesting evening yesterday. I had an urgent message from one of my best friends who was in Bridgend visiting one of her daughters. She was stuck there and couldn't get home so I went and fetched her, a 4hr round trip.

She's just found out she's pregnant. After the initial shock she and her partner are chuffed to bits. I'll have to get the knitting needles out.

                            • Another manic morning at work ((sigh)) ......
.... then a mad search for a car parking spot at the hospital.....

.....manage to get to appropriate department, check in on time and ((heart sinks)) another waiting room PACKED full with other patients ~ so standing room only for me ....(not actually helping with my stress levels...)

A two minute 'chat' with the consultant - ("see your GP it's not my problem ~ off you go") and on my way, back out into the madness of rush-hour traffic from the schools ....... ceaseless roadworks ........

Anyway, back home, de-stressing with my lovely GH and peaceful garden .......

And here's a photo whilst out on morning Toby walk ~ wonderful September morning ~should be bottled, poured only when required and sipped slowly for tranquility ......
