    • Happy Friday morning all

6 hours without anything to eat, that's tough, NannySally. I'm a grazer with food so I'd hate that one. You deserve a treat afterwards

Susie, my sunflower is looking very sad too right now. It's got heads but all closed and droopy despite watering every few days and being in the sun. I'm not great with flowers.

Am lounging in bed and trying to avoid getting up. However school day so need to move soon.

      Have a great day
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

        • Goid luck with the scan Sally - in theory the sweet sucking will help..it will stop your blood sugars going to low which really will make you feel hungry. Especially if you go much lower than your used to because you've missed a meal.

Right, dishwasher on and finished, washing on the line and I'm off out in a bit!

          • Mornin n'all n'all!

I seem to have overslept a tad this morning!

            All good here.
Nice to wake up to sunshine and blue skies. Hopefully it'll stay that way over the weekend.

I mentioned it was chilly during night and OH delightfully reminded me that it'll be November in about 7 weeks! Bah...that's ages away...

More crafting and preparing for Sunday for me today....I'm getting itchy fingers wanting to get on with more preserving...the pile of yellow courgette is mounting at an incredible rate!.
Good job I made an inroad with some courgette and onion soup last night

Have a great day folks....hope the scan goes well NS x

              • Something for you to watch - I have posted this before my boys playing guitar and drums one Christmas when one of my boys had his new "fender" guitar! Unfortunately he dropped his guitar playing- there just wasn't enough hours in the day to practice. He stuck with piano and clarinet instead. I'm feeling a little nostalgic!

                • A little of what you fancy does you good, Nicos. Sometimes though, it has to be very little! Own up, how many baklava did you have?

Anyway, it was bliss here yesterday - cloudy! Sun determined to carry on today where it left off on Wednesday.

                  Hope you're all doing well.

Edited: Have just realised this post will make little sense. Sorry, I thought I was on the last page but evidently not. Oh well. There's always tomorrow.

                      • Morning All! I think its going to one of "those" days today! Don't read on if you don't like spiders!!
                        Imagine this:-
I'm in the shower, reach out for the towel and there's a HUGE spider (palm of your hand jobby with thick legs) walking on the towel. I like spiders, but I don't want to dry myself with one, so I shake the towel into the bath. Poor spider tries to climb out, but can't so, I empty a wicker basket and upend it over the spider, who climbs into it. I slide a piece of paper under the basket and trap the spider.
Most of the upstairs windows are top opening and not big enough to empty the basket out but one of the bedroom windows is side opening and you can just about squeeze out of it onto the sloping roof below.
Open window, shake spider out of basket, clumsily drop basket onto roof, out of arm's reach!
Find coat hanger, still can't reach basket but manage to dislodge basket which slides further down roof.
Head off downstairs for a pointy stick with a hook, then remember that I should get dressed first!
                        Bored yet?
Pointy stick to the rescue! I managed to hook the basket and pull it back through the window, the spider was last seen scuttling across the roof and all's well that ends well.
You deserve coffee if you've read all that..............
Have a great, spider- free Friday, everyone

                          • I hate this time of the year as I detest spiders and absolutely detest daddy long legs. OH hates September more than me as he spends most of it chasing said creatures around the house trying to catch them to put them outside as I don't kill anything, no matter how much I hate them!

                            • VC its odd how many spiders end up in the bathroom I've got a spider ladder hung from the bath taps but they insist on ignoring it so they have to rescued instead. Not found many in the shower cubical though but still check I'd hate to drown any.
Thanks for posting the youTube link Scarlet
